Yeah. at least they didn't have to get Smith out of jail for the game
True, but if the charges hold, your boys might get to spend some time in federal "pound me in the ass" prision for doing their best willie nelson impression.

Jail < Prision.

Four Steelers players were served subpoenas this morning in connection with activities at a South Side sports bar in which their teammate wines hard has a financial interest.

Casey Hampton, Deshea Townsend, Nate Washington and Ike Taylor were served subpoenas at the Steelers practice facility, according to attorney Mark A. Bartholomaei.

Mr. Ward and another co-owner of a South Side sports bar previously were ordered to repay more than $170,000 to the business, which is being managed by a court-appointed receiver.

The payment to the Locker Room Bar & Grille includes $48,438 that was used to purchase two cars given to high school friends of Mr. Ward. That money is be repaid by Mr. Ward. The remaining $122,000 must be repaid by Korry Pitts, Mr. Ward's partner.

That decision by Common Pleas Court Judge Christine Ward came after Nicholas A. Lettieri Jr., a third co-owner and the bar's former manager, alleged that nearly $1 million of the bar's money was unaccounted for, including $350,000 defrauded from an insurance company.

Judge Ward named Downtown attorney David K. Rudov to oversee the bar's operations. Mr. Rudov must file a report on the business' financial condition within 45 days.

In court papers, Mr. Lettieri accused Mr. Pitts and his wife, Kimberly, of creating a secret account at Dollar Bank, using their home as the address for the account. Ms. Pitts wrote checks on the account to purchase a 2007 Dodge Charger and a 2007 Ford Expedition, he said. High school friends of Mr. Ward were listed as owners of the vehicles, Mr. Lettieri stated in court papers.
Ohh... Ward was ordered to pay 48,000 dollars that he used. He did so as soon as it was ordered. He's in the clear. No charges coming. The other guy that was involved might have some problems though.

They were regulars there, and were called to testify about the day to day runnings of the place, as well as what they might have seen in terms of Ward. He's clear, but as of this morning, his former partner is now being charged with contempt for failing to pay back his portion of the morning.
