Spicoli Mock v2.0

2 first round picks, McCarron to Denver for the 31st pick....he's the best option out there, I think they'll eventually suck it up and offer us up that pick.

1. Andrew Billings DT Baylor: we've waited for a replacement for Peko for how long now? well here he is....pure nose tackle with size and athleticism that plays like his hair's on fire...and he's only 21 years old....unlimited upside   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afNZkUuJqhA

1. Michael Thomas WR The Ohio State: this kid is the epitome of a NFL WR2 and if you take him with that in mind, he's easily one of the safest picks in this draft IMO....Green/Thomas/Eifert/Kroft/Gio....that's not too shabby.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWysKHsZFBo

2. Jonathan Bullard DE Florida: this kid is EXACTLY what the Bengals value most in their system...size, a ton of versatility and big school production as a 4 year starter....he played all up and down that d-line in his time at Gainesville....this kid is the definition of a "system fit"   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7Xff_dZ304

3. Deion Jones OLB LSU: slide him right into that Emmanuel Lamur role for a year and then look out, sky's the limit...this kid's a fiery leader and a flat out playmaker no matter where you line him up at...I can only imagine what a year in a pro system will do for him.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwNB_QfeoPc

4. TJ Green FS Clemson: converted WR that's only been playing S for a couple of years...speed to burn and the ball skills to match....was overshadowed a bit by his teammate at Clemson, Jayron Kearse, but I think Green has a much higher ceiling.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c39yNQ2UEdo

5. Kevin Hogan QB Stanford: pretty much the same prospect McCarron was coming out...highly confident, highly intelligent, highly productive and a bigtime winner...just like McCarron though, limited physical traits that'll push him down the boards a bit....sign a cheap vet back-up for a year and start the process all over again.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6gwIDMAnDE

6. Jalin Marshall WR The Ohio State: slot WR and returner....not super fast, but highly athletic and versatile...day one ST's contributor as a gunner/returner   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gko-f7ps3VU

7. Juston Burris CB NC State

That would be a fantastic draft. Assuming no McCarron deal though, I think they almost have to go WR at 24 if the right guy is there. Even over a guy like Billings (who I like).

DL in the second makes a ton of sense. Kind of doubt Bullard falls to 55, but he'd be a great pick if he did. I'm thinking Carl Nassib from PSU might be a guy the Bengals will really like and another option in round 2. He has the height/length the Bengals love at DE and had a monster senior season rushing the passer.

Love the Deion Jones pick in the third. Exactly the type of LB the team needs to add to their rotation.

not with Brandon LaFell apparently in the fold now they don't....not that they really draft that way anyhow though.

now they can go with just the best flat out playmaker regardless of position, which could very well turn out to be Braxton Miller....slot playmaker/HR hitter/returner is really the only thing missing on that side of the ball at this point IMO.

as for the McCarron trade, I doubt it happens...but...Denver might get desperate enough to offer up that pick if it comes down to a choice between someone like Connor Cook vs McCarron...IMO, a first rd pick would definitely get it done regardless of what Marvin Lewis is putting out there.....and if that ends up somehow being the case, I'll take Braxton Miller and a DT with those first picks all day long....doesn't matter to me what order.

If they sign LaFell, they don't "have" to go WR at 24.  But I don't think it will stop them either if a worthy prospect is there.  He might be as much about Wright as he is the draft.

just changes the make-up of what they're looking for a little is all....IMO they'll be looking for some explosion out of the slot and that pretty much narrows it down to 3-4 guys early....Corey Coleman, Braxton Miller, Sterling Shepperd and maybe Will Fuller....I just don't see any of them as first round picks though...but I guess if they really love one of them they could pull the trigger at 24 if they think he'll be gone before they pick again.....trading back would be really ideal this year.

Fuller in 24 is definitely growing on me.  I'd still rather they trade down a few spots if Treadwell, Doctson and Coleman are gone, but I wouldn't be upset by it.  I would love to add someone with his speed.  And he can definitely play outside.
