*** Anyone know anything about actions sports cameras for recording basketball specifically *** Looking for 5k or 8k

Posting in the wrong for for attention then ill move it.

I am going to be recording my son playing basketball this winter, his college records and streams on the conference tv channel and app for free, BUT, they all use HUDL cameras and they suck ass.

So for purposes of having good clear clean film of him for potential transfer options, I gotta record myself.

I bought the PIX4TEAMS 2 auto-follow action unit that auto follows the ball and gameplay, so i wont have to be a cameraman and can just enjoy my sons games while im there.

I will be likely paying someone to do any editing.

So that comes to the camera. i dont want to tinker with zoom too much aside form setting it up initially to record pre-game. So i was thinking 4k, or 5k-8k camera may be ideal, so if im in the middle or top of the stands, i may want close up videos, so im THINKING if i had 4k, 5k, or 8k i could digital zoom in after the fact, is that logical?

I want something within a reasonable price, that will keep up with basketball action from a small distance and be clear enough to do what im thinking with zooming in after the fact?

any thoughts or ideas welcome. I own a few 4k gopros.

Since no one seems to know I'd probably creep on some other person doing this at the games and talk gear.

yea it sucks even Reddit is just filled with dudes pimping apps or youtube channels or shit of themselves, information so tough to come by, my gut feeling is my current GoPro is fine, but I dunno, I may see if my sons AAU team of younger kids has any tournaments before i need to make a decisions i could go film it for them, be less creepy since i know some of them, and get a good trial run in.

I got Nieces and Nephews i can film also, but they are doing baseball stuff currently.

my kid has games the 3rd/7th/11th/18th/21st in November, then 2 weeks break and back at it Dec 2nd. So if im wrong, im likely stuck with what i choose for at least the first 2 games. I think i can also mount 2 cameras to the thing at once, and trial multiple, but them im buying a camera just to try it vs my goPro. maybe worth it with the option to return in time still if i dont care for it.
