Meaning: We may need yet another backup for Carson...

I would like to see Wright back with the Bengals - and never get on the field.

Hate to be a board nazi, but there is already a thread going on this subject:

and yeah I'd like to see him back, but hopefully we will never need whoever our backup is unless we are up by 4 TD's :afropic:

Not in my opinion. I think it means we spend a 5th, 6th, or 7th on one.

Why, What can a drafted rookie QB give us?

The best options out there for a QB if it is not A Wright are Harrington, Brooks and Rattay.

I hope Wright resigns for continuity's sake, as well as the fact that he knows the system, but if he doesn't, oh well. We'll grab somebody cheap and hope we never have to use him. Such is the life of the backup QB in the NFL. Everyone wants to have the best backup possible but nobody wants to pay them big money if they're really good (Schaub, Volek, etc).

Hope?

Something Wright sure as hell doesn't give me

[quote name='Farbeyonddriven' post='460238' date='Mar 21 2007, 07:38 PM']meh. He was ok, I think Doug Johnson is better, and like said hopefully we won't need a back up.

I don't think Doug Johnson is nearly the athelete that Wright is, but I believe that Johnson is the savvier vet of the two that may realize his limitations more and hence make better QB decisions.
But they are both career backups and need to be paid as such.
