  1. I'm old enough to remember a time that the Sex Pistols were thought of as raggedy-ass looking "musicians". Nothing like those two.
  2. “After 12 long years…” Thank you for your service. Putz
  3. Losing 15 lbs for a man that big, is fairly easy. Whatever his “commitment” would be, his film shows a player with a motor. But there will always be some media hack who will toss out the “lazy” card. Goes with being a very large person.
  4. The Kelsey Conway article was completely useless. Total clickbait. “He could…he might…he possibly…he isn’t!”
  5. CJ was then…and is now…the complete antithesis of a typical QB from THE.
  6. Wait...but...but...but...I keep reading that a true franchise QB can make ANY receivers look good. What I read anyway.
  7. You bet. Daytona Alley. Plenty of crotch rockets too. And don’t get me started on the ultra-huge F-350’s. They don’t race….they just bear down your backside… then veer suddenly into the adjoining lane.
  8. Last week, a pair of those jacked-up Civics (I call them loud go-carts) were racing on a freeway I was on. Learned a long time ago, stay in a lane more to the middle when you see/hear them coming). Passed me in the far left two lanes—easily 120mph. Always wonder why? Unless there is high stakes money involved (and on an approved track), why risk lives—including their clueless own—over such triviality?
  9. True story: while working in Las Vegas 7 years ago, I was having my usual Friday post-work brew at a brewpub near my house on the western edge of the Valley. Got to shooting the breeze with this younger fellow next to me. He was in the Air Force and stationed at Creech AFB north of LV. Turns out the young guy was a drone “pilot”—with assets worldwide. He was, understandably, vague about just what and where targets were, but did mention that “drivers” at Creech and other Drone operations were generally around 30 yrs of age. Gave me a new understanding of the skills needed for this kind of warfare—and respect for the young soldiers who perform them.
  10. Salute to him. That was some dangerous duty. And unlike today’s 18 year olds, who are more concerned with x-boxes.
  11. This is even more so as the importance of field position changes expands. Basically, with the new kickoff rules, the field will be shrinking to 65 yds—even with no returns. The defenses will be pressed to the hilt to limit offenses to possessions on the opponents’ 50. The tendency has been to attempt long FG’s, when keeping opponents on their own side of their own 20 will be huge. The exchanges of yardage between the 30-50 may be critical towards possessions which score. A punter doesn’t need to be booming kick-dominant….rather sky-high punts and placement is going to be more critical
  12. My father did that in 1944–except he was 22 the year before, and was co-piloting B-17’s while dodging flak and Messerschmitts. Have at it, Caleb….lots of 22-year olds gave their all so you would have the freedom to look like a damn fool.
  13. Nah….this is classic. Brought to you by Karras’s great-uncle
  14. Their strengths in the line—as Clapton mentioned—has historically been from the center out. When that spot is anchored, they have good lines
  15. If the Bengals pass on him...he is going to be wearing Black/Gold. Bank it.
  16. It's OK for them though. They are a long ways from relegation, so at least they will get a fresh start next season.
  17. Mildly. I am knee-deep in "proper football". There is another 2 months of play--and up to 2 more Cups for Liverpool to win! (For your interest: Swansea is 15th in Championship, and down 0-1 today.)
  18. I dunno. He wants to throw—all the time. His HC wants to throw—all the time. Not really seeing a friendly meeting in the middle with the RB room.
  19. Not going to absolve the offensive line to be sure, but as I have mentioned ad nauseum, St. Joseph himself can factor into that sack count. He is not anywhere close to being the example of escape ability.
  20. Well, technically, the Dodgers and SD are tied for first in the majors after their brief 2-game set in Korea
  21. The Wild Card route is always iffy. Not only overall record factored in, but also season record vs other WC claimants. LA and ATL are likely (again) division winners. The Central is more dicey. The Wild Cards will come from teams good enough to win their divisions, but have LA and ATL in them (AZ and PHL). That leaves two spots for the likes of SF, NYM, CHC (or STL), and the Reds. There are also “rebound” teams such as MIA, SEA and SD. Getting off to a good start may be key. They start off with 3 vs PHL, 3 vs NYM, and end the month with 3 against SEA, 4 against PHL and 2 against SD. Gotta make hay against the WC contenders early, so as get the head-to-head lead down
