  1. Sure, but if everyone else on his level is making 50% more than that it still matters. To put it differently, what has Katie Blackburn done to make her more deserving of the extra millions they aren't paying him, on top of whatever the family is pulling down annually to begin with?
  2. Why would he care what the Bengals received in a trade so long as the new team met his demands? I'm sure they've received offers but we probably won't know what they were until they accept one of them. The way things are headed I think that may be the best possible outcome.
  3. All speculation of course but I'd love to know what the plan was before Chase & Higgins put their heads together. If they were operating close to the cap it'd be more understandable but with around $30M in space you have to wonder what they're thinking...
  4. Why are they dividing up certain countries among teams exclusively? Italy's a free-for-all but if you sail on over to Greece you only get the Chargers? How the heck does that work? Dutch East India Company type shit...
  5. Then why didn't they follow through with that plan if they intended to extend Higgins all along? I'm convinced they didn't, but Chase forced the issue.
  6. He can coach them however he wants if it means Cleveland doesn't hang 30+ on them in the opener
  7. If they have reservations about his ability to produce maybe they shouldn't have made him their first round pick based on his combine scores
  8. Wish they would've done this before the draft but better late than never!
  9. Ehh.....
  10. He could be injured, or only play half the games, go on the NFI list. He could retire. That aside, how is he worth 2 first round picks (he's not) but not worth what he's asking? They're demanding a price they themselves are unwilling to pay. They seem to think they can force him to go out and get another dozen-plus sacks because of a contract. That's simply not how it works. This thread is over 20 pages. If this drags on into training camp it will 100% be a distraction.
  11. He has the ultimate card in that the team can't force him out there with a cattle prod. Whole lot of ways he can get out of playing or play very little without owing them anything. Pay him, trade him, or deal with the distraction. Those are the options.
  12. If that bag holds as much as its namesake...
  13. something-something woke mind virus
  14. They're all over the place but also it was a joke.
  15. Which got the team what, exactly? Don't get me wrong, I'm not really down on Chase in the big picture & the FO could've easily avoided the issue, but ultimately this isn't the Cincinnati Ja'Marrs. They stank out of the gate & couldn't overcome those early losses. There are plenty of other reasons for that but his "hold in" was the focus all through camp into the preseason & it didn't help. Now their best player on the other side of the ball is poised to pull the same shit. It's a distraction they don't need.
  16. I thought they should've sent him home. Letting him sit out was not a good look.
  17. Considering just about everyone that's been contracted by a Trump business or invested money with him (other than bribes/money laundering schemes) has had to sue him...
  18. Terrible precedent.
  19. If they did the 2nd one it'd be structured so they can cut him with minimal dead cap in a year or two.. Really doesn't matter much what's on paper as far as total value or years, it's about guaranteed money.
  20. Do have to wonder how people would feel if this had worked out how I think they planned it - Tee on the franchise tag and Trey extended. Also, if they're not going to spend some of that $30M in cap space they're sitting on extending Trey, they better spend it on someone.. right? Or are we ok with them doing the least? Also also, with this spilling over into other threads.. Both sides are negotiating (poorly) through the media & that seems entirely counterproductive unless they've given up and are more interested in the blame game fallout.
  21. This sounds familiar but I thought it was more of an "if" speculation before the bailouts. If only we knew then the President could just lie about it and blame China and Chicanos. "We've got the greatest economy America have ever seen! Biggest and Strongest in the world! My PP very large!" And people would buy it. Would've saved us a lot of money!
  22. Why would Moody's do this?! It must be part of the Woke Trans Agenda. They're evil libs. Don't they know Trump's uncle went to MIT? https://www.newsweek.com/moodys-us-credit-rating-negative-2073510
  23. Never said it did, or that it wasn't legal. You're arguing with your own strawman here. I said if it's how it sounds (big if, granted) then it was a scummy thing to do (paraphrasing) . A lawyer's opinion doesn't factor jnto that and you know it.
