  1. and the same ref isn't it? Certainly just an unfortunate coincidence.
  2. They probably would've moved him 5 years ago if he didn't have a no-trade clause in the contract. Votto's great (or more like was great) but it's weird how they kind of expected him to carry the entire team at times.
  3. Undefeated when they don't give Kermit a 5th down do-over. Still one of the most blatant game-fixing calls I've ever witnessed.
  4. Yeah I'm wondering where they might have a logjam, usually it's an infielder. Someone that'd be starting if they had a less talented guy ahead of them. Move the hot bat at a premium and bring up the rookie.
  5. The question then becomes who can they spare that's any good?
  6. I'd be real hesitant to give up much for a half-season rental pitcher with the team just becoming relevant again. They need to continue building for the long term, not sweating this season.
  7. I didn't really take it that way, no worries. My understanding of karma though is that it's more like the vibe we give off, so more like "reap what you sow" than divine retribution. Personally I've seen far too many awful people go right on enjoying being awful while other good people suffer to believe in any sort of cosmic balance. Anyone expecting a reward for being a good person is going to be very disappointed.
  8. I agree it has nothing to do with his kid but Lewis Sr. did plea to obstruction and had the victim's blood on his clothes. So, by his own admission, he was at least protecting the murderer and in close proximity when it happened. We may not know the details but it's not entirely conjecture. He was personally involved in a double homicide. He admitted to it and served time for it. That's facts. Conjecture would be me saying that if he wasn't a HoF linebacker he'd likely still be serving time for it.
  9. Every accusation from them is a confession. Say the other guys did it first then play the "both sides do it" if they get caught.
  10. OK which one of you degenerates voted for Collinsworth? This is for the Bengals, not whatever sad, stained toilet bowl ring they've got around Ketchup Field. For shame
  11. That'd be something. ZT only inherited him & Marvin's OCs never seemed to quite figure out how to use him effectively. Of course a big part of that has been not having a run game that much scared anybody. No RB will excel when hurdling turtled OL & dodging blitzers behind the line.* Make the other team play an honest defense though & everybody will eat. *unless it's the 2013 Dolphins LOL.. like a greased electric eel also once again for old time's sake? Fuck Ryan Shazier. Boo-fuckin-hoo. You reap what you sow.
  12. Oh I thought that was him signalling a call to "New York" for another do-over. Did Ron Torbert get rings too?
  13. Guess we'll find out but.. Ostensibly grown men, millionaires, famous, pro athletes & their billion dollar team management playing out their workplace drama in public on social media is weird AF to me. Why do that? How does that benefit either party? Just another example of WWE-style "sports entertainment" I suppose. The sport itself isn't exciting enough?
  14. How nice would it be to have a RB of his style and ability on this roster..
  15. Definitely better but not significantly so, at a glance anyway. Didn't look at his receiving stats. Don't know if he can block. No secret I would've been happy with even a cheap side-grade but we're going with Shooty McDeadlegs for now & that's that.
  16. Word is he's looking for a contract in the neighborhood of Mixon while carrying equally mid stats.
  17. That may verify it, but it sure as hell doesn't explain it +1 for effort
  18. Seems to me like teams try to rent relief pitchers once everything else is clicking. If they think they have a shot they go get them before the deadline. That being said it only works when adding to a mostly-average pen.
  19. And then they bet any shot at being relevant in the next 4-5 years for a known sex offender. Fans will put up with a lot and would even excuse his behavior but the price they paid will cripple them. He may be a good QB but he's not $250M guaranteed and 2 years worth of top draft picks good, even if he wasn't a creep. Dude is more likely to become a fugitive than win them a SB and deep down all the Cleveland fans know it. Can't blame them at all for wanting off that sinking ship.
  20. Trying to market baseball to people that don't like baseball thus alienating the people that already liked baseball. Brilliant!
  21. NL getting the DH kinda bummed me out, really changed the game in a way I dont much care for... Dumbs down the strategy and the pitchers have no skin in the game throwing inside to brush guys back.. I guess it was inevitable but it's nerfed IMO. Also this shit with pitchers wiggling around playing ants-in-the-pants to game the pitch clock & avoid balk calls is straight bush league, need to start tossing their asses for it. All that aside they're ahead of the Cardinals which honestly might be good enough for me.
