  1. How do they install new plays? Tweak the offense or defense? Just sit in a room and watch video? They have to do it. They have to practice. All of them.
  2. The Bengals are thin at RB, so he may get a shot. The NFL is not a true meritocracy. If you are a first or second round pick you will be able to stink for years before you are out of the league. See guys like Oogie-Boogie and Carman.
  3. Both are borderline, but Ken has the stats to back him up. That's a lot harder for an OL.
  4. Reporters have to report something. They've been very positive about Turner, Battle and Iosivas. So the first round pick hasn't wowed anyone yet. Okay. Yeah, it's premature to conclude anything, but that doesn't mean the guy is wrong. It's no more crazy to say that Murphy has been disappointing than to say Battle will be starting later in the season. All speculation. Can't get butthurt about what these guys say. It's their job.
  5. Orlando Brown is a good LT. He isn't the next coming of Munoz. He'll get beat now and then.
  6. Wrap them all in bubble wrap and open them on the first day of the regular season.
  7. What a wacko. If she had any case she would have a lawyer and this stuff would be everywhere.
  8. Agreed, but the Bengals were desperate for WR talent at the time. They were going to let Chase work through his issues no matter what. Murphy isn’t in that position. He was drafted as a rotational guy who could take over in a few years. He may not get much rotational play as it stands. Also, Chase was a much, much bigger talent than Murphy.
  9. I would hold out Tee due to his contract situation. Other than that I would like to see all of them play one series.
  10. Of that I have no clue. Just commenting about your prior post. It will depend upon what the judge thinks.
  11. Even if she did initiate the incident with the finger, is that a crime? I don't think so. Threatening to shoot someone and showing them a gun may be.
  12. I think you answered your own question about Williams, and he definitely saw more offensive action than Evans last season. The bottom line is none of these guys have proven anything, but one of them is likely going to get an opportunity this season. Personally, I don't have much faith in any of them until they prove it on the field. Evans obviously hasn't impressed the coaches enough over his two seasons to get more than the occasional snap. Yeah, he can catch the ball out of the backfield. He has to do more than that to get regular play. We'll see what happens.
  13. I agree that makes things tougher, but when you are a late round pick that's part of the equation. You have to fight and claw for a spot.
  14. Seeing that the Bengals don't have many RBs under contract and with Mixon's legal issues and Williams' injury issues, the idea of Evans getting cut is out there. Evans certainly had/has a lot to prove to this coaching staff, and there is some indication he is making progress. On the other hand there are fewer guys in front of him as well. My bet is we're gonna see more of Chris Evans this season. I hope he performs well.
  15. I’m with Gupps. Get a series in at the start of the game. Help get the jitters out. I get wanting to stay healthy, but guys get hurt in practice too. A little real game experience is important.
  16. Honestly, all they really need is a 3rd down back. One who can block, catch and run occasionally. You know...Gio Bernard. Mixon is the main guy until someone unseats him, or he gets himself and extended unpaid vacation from the league.
  17. If all of this is factual I suspect Mr. Mixon will be missing some games. Eventually.
  18. I didn’t say he doesn’t have value, but he’s pretty much buried in the lineup at this point. I did forget about Irwin, another WR he is behind. Unless Jones can play special teams the guy isn’t going to dress on Sundays. A torn labrum sure isn’t going to help. As I said, having Jones get experience in camp and preseason is good for his development, but come regular season I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on IR.
  19. Your labrum doesn't effect running routes, unless you cant take any contact off the line. Jones is at best the fifth WR with the emergence of Iosivas and that's not even considering special teams. I can see him getting reps in camp and preseason, but once the real games start its doubtful he'll even dress at this point. Instead of risking sending him to the practice squad you have him get the surgery and come back next season when there will be more need.
  20. Because he isn't good enough? You can store him on the IR and give him a year to learn and get better.
