I think the ownerrship would prefer to release him and save 13 mil. That would free up salary to acquire better relievers. RH..Graham Ashcroft LH..Brandon Williamson LH..Nick Lodolo  That's a promising group for a run at the playoffs..  Add a solid starter to the group and they'll have a staff to overcome injuries thruout the season to make the playoffs  Bullpen has to rid themselves of any relievers with a 4 plus ERA to get thru the 6th inn and beyond.to not blow leads  In Krall ..I trust..         1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bullpen have to be stocked with quality relief more than ever.  Starters with a 4,40 ERA and  relievers with 3.3 ERAs are in high demand now..  Batting averages have dropped 10 points but the power is still up.  A 290 hitter is considered a 300 ave from the past..  I add 10 points per average to equate hitters from few yrs ago.  They don't have the luxury of facing a starter 3 or more times .
