claptonrocks Posted May 25, 2023 Report Posted May 25, 2023 One of the greatest Queens of Rock has passed... From Flatbush to Albert Hall and every venue in between.. The high octane energy with a joy as she performed stood her out. Great rocker.. Great woman..
|westside bengal| Posted May 27, 2023 Report Posted May 27, 2023 In July 1972 there was an outdoor concert at Bosse Field in Evansville, IN. Ike and Tina Turner were supposed to be the headliners and definitely put on a great show. I say supposed to be headliners because a lot of folks were there to see Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas who rocked the place. There were several other bands... Country Joe and the Fish, Howlin Wolf, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Spirit. There were also a few other acts as well.
T-Dub Posted June 1, 2023 Report Posted June 1, 2023 With apologies to CCR her version of "Proud Mary" is definitive, but she really shined after dumping Ike. Proceeded to break the mold & stayed relevant right up to the end, unlike so many of her peers from that era.
