Personally I think any team would still take the league leader in sacks, and think some are downplaying how good he is, with copium. This may be a case of the Bengals valued him higher than other teams do with regard to draft picks, but not as much as other teams do with regard to paying him. Personally I don't know why both parties can't come to a compromise on the structure of the contract and number of years. Does Trey want more than 3 years? Do the Bengals only want to keep extending him for one year? Find a compromise. Give him 3 years and let the last year be a team option. It seems like there is way too much pride on both sides preventing this from getting done.
