  1. I think Denver turned down a trade offer from New England for Jeudy during the season. It was supposedly for a 2nd rounder.
  2. No doubt Latham is big and strong. But is he another Bama lineman who is already maxed out? Is he quick enough to handle elite NFL rushers? My guess is the answers are yes and no. I don't want to make him the pick to find out I'm right when there are other options available. FWIW, most mocks I've seen have Latham coming off the board earlier. Good, it pushes another tackle down to us.
  3. He was OBj's teammate at Oklahoma and Orlando lobbied for the Bengals to sign him last year. Ford is the sort of depth guy like Trayveon Williams, Mitchell Wilcox, Josh Tupou, Joe Bachie, or Markus Bailey who it should be easy to re-sign. Then we can work on Trent Irwin, ADG, and Tanner Hudson who might have interest from other teams.
  4. Probably another veteran minimum benefit deal as they cost less than the actual pay on the salary cap. Ford knew he wouldn't have much of a market so no need to shop himself around.
  5. Both the Ravens starting guards are free agents and Stanley can't stay healthy. They'll probably lose Zeitler, Edwards, Dobbins, OBJ, Stone, Queen, and perhaps others. After paying Roquan 20 per and Lamar 50 per, they will have to be more cap conscious.
  6. Flat NO! to CEH. White can't stay healthy these days. Marshall would be ok but probably isn't as good as Irwin.
  7. You may have heard the Wall Street saying that "differences of opinion are what make markets". It's the same thing in NFL trading. There are a number of different charts, which are used by teams. They don't need to be using the same chart to make a deal. Some of the charts are based on trades actually made in the league. Some are based on career value of the players picked at various slots. Some are based on value during rookie contracts, etc. So pick 1 might be worth a thousand times what pick 256 is on one chart and worth 50 times it on another. The latter is the sort of chart used by teams that prefer more bites at the apple.
  8. Chiefs need to trade Sneed before they can re-sign Jones.
  9. There's lots. Just go look at the wiki article for last year's draft or pretty much any year. One team trades up to get a specific player and the other trades down to get more picks.
  10. Trades like that happen all the time. There are teams with bad rosters or cap issues who need multiple cheap players and will trade down for more picks.
  11. The whole idea is ridiculous. KC used a first round pick on him and gave him the starting job. He promptly coughed it up. They tried again and he lost it to another team mate. He has a better line in KC than he'd have in Cincinnati, yet people expect him to suddenly play better? I guess Mahomes was holding him back, right?
  12. This might be of interest. He's the guy who does the comp pick projections for OTC and thinks the league made a mistake. Might have cost the Bengals a 3rd round comp pick.
  13. I'd like us to have our needs covered with vets going into the draft so we can take the best player at 18, whether it's Bowers, Thomas, Murphy, DeJean, Mims, etc.
  14. Yeah, that 3.5 ypc running behind the Bengals line will impress and awe all who watch it.
  15. Comp picks for 2024 have been announced. OTC had projected us getting a 5th and 7th but the actual picks are a pair of 6th rounders.
  16. Au contraire. Bengals have 9 draft picks and a lot of cap space. It's definitely possible to go to minicamp with no obvious roster holes. That doesn't mean players won't get injured in training camp or preseason games but we should have a good mix of vets and youth with talent in all the position groups.
  17. They may have been RFAs who aren't being tendered. In that case they become UFAs.
  18. I don't know why people around here seem to want CEH. Sure he was on Burrow's championship team but as an NFL player he sucks. I'd rather add Gus Edwards than Moss but either would be an upgrade from Mixon. Brown needs more touches anyway. Guerendo is very athletic, but not very good. There are other backs I'd prefer in the draft, even in the 5th or later.
  19. That's basically a chart of which teams are getting tweeted about. If there was one for positive mentions, I bet it would look a lot like that one.
  20. Yep. They'll probably get waived at the end of preseason to go to the practice squad and could get claimed but most likely they'll be Bengals.
  21. I don't think the Bengals will bring in 8 outside free agents. But I could see 4 or 5 at positions of need. His draft hits the right spots though I"m not sure Latham or Sinnott will be available where picked.
  22. I'd expect George and Davis back in the Bengals camp in July. Unless someone else gives them a good contract but that's unlikely.
  23. Biggest current needs are starters at RT, NT, TE, WR3 plus maybe CB or FS. This draft is definitely deeper on the offensive side than defense. But it has some DT and CB prospects. I don't see a free agent RT who is a substantial upgrade from Jonah and who the Bengals are willing to pay. So I think we are looking for a short term vet for coverage and the long term solution in the draft. For NT, there are veteran options in free agency, maybe including bringing back Reader. Likewise at TE and WR3 and CB and S. IMO comp picks aren't worth worrying about but if the Bengals disagree, they may limit themselves to players who have been cut so they can get a 4th rounder for Jonah if he gets a rich contract somewhere.
