  1. Hate to break it to you but the largest group receiving government assistance would be rural whites, predominantly in the South & Appalachia, and it's not even close. Not real sure why you guys still have such a hard-on for Chicago, Obama isn't running again and it's been what, 7 years? Yet it's still the go-to racism dog whistle. Chicago is a really fun diverse city with a ton of history & culture and unless you're fighting over territory to sell drugs (predominantly to, guess what, white folks yet again) you're probably not going to have any issues. Really weird thing to keep harping on & shows a disconnect with reality in favor of pushing an agenda. Are the Democrats pandering? Yeah definitely. I guess it still looks better than a presidential candidate calling them rapists & gang members?
  2. What exactly are conservatives actually conservative about? Fine with insurrection, fine with rape or marital infidelity, fine with pedophiles, fine with insane government spending on boondoggles like a border wall, no problem at all with the government legislating people's private lives... Republicans are just the party of bigotry. If you don't hate gay/trans people or minorities there's really not a whole lot left of substance there. Other than being in a die-hard cult for the most obvious narcissistic conman imaginable, that is. The only reason they're still relevant is because they've shown they're both willing and eager to resort to mob violence and terrorism, Meanwhile however that's also marginalizing them by self-selecting for the most batshit of supporters. Not a great long term strategy but hey being a little pee-pants baby screaming about ridiculous shit like M&M's not being sexy enough or whatever the fuck nonsense outrage-du-jour is spoonfed to them does keep them in the news for now.
  3. In the context of not being worth a 7th overall pick, which is kind of ridiculous when you think about it. Some of these GMs would rather play a scratch-off ticket.
  4. Which I find interesting considering Tee's stat line vs whichever line of straight zeroes posted by any WR pick that might come off the board in the top 10. He's only 25 and would be the immediate WR1 on all but a handful of teams. Not potential, not in the right system, not when he learns to beat press coverage or a route tree or "gets up to NFL speed". Proven production on a SB team that would immediately elevate any franchise he lands with. But sure, why give up a magic draft bean for that?
  5. Oh that much is clear, they just flushed an entire season making a bad LT play at RT for no good reason beyond guaranteed money. I would guess that decision cost them a hell of a lot more than Jonah's $13M which was already spent either way but that's our Bengals. Our FO would eat a bowl of wax fruit before admitting they made a mistake biting into it in the first place.
  6. He could be the worst RB in history and drunkenly crash his car through the front door of a Skyline & unless he kills someone he is still going to play out his final year here. The people at the top just don't care that much, they're more interested in Good Boy Points and everyone thinking they are nice while they stack more money and think of more excuses to stay $50+ million under the cap every season. Being good at your job or not being a public menace are entirely optional. Just smile a lot and you can retire here, no problem.
  7. I want to see the refs win in favor of San Francisco. Want the officiating to finally get so bad that they're forced to clean it up. Also for KC to experience the stinky end of that stick.
  8. Probably? Apparently he's both too valuable to trade and not valuable enough to be worth trading... 🧠
  9. Yeah if they do trade him I think it'd take at least a 2nd & probably an early one at that.
  10. They need to do that regardless. They're drafting prospects, not players. Mims may be a bigger risk but none of them come with guarantees.
  11. or.. they don't trust their own people to turn the pick into a quality starting OT/OL.
  12. Feel like not trading Browning is them planning for Burrow to get hurt rather than planning to find an OL to protect him. There's risk involved either way and to me they're choosing the wrong one. "L" mindset.
  13. So we're going to move our best OL & cut our 2nd best OL in favor of starting a rookie center because he looked good in the Pac-12. Maybe let's pump the brakes there?
  14. funny how these "democratic shitholes" are where the vast majority of Americans choose to live. Could it be that they're actually not shitholes? Maybe even have something more to offer than an inbred trailer park in East Pigknuckle Alabama with employment opportunities beyond a Dollar Store and selling bathtub crank? No, can't be. Everyone's just stupid.
  15. The most fun part of this for me is the idea that Swift fans were previously undecided voters that will only lean Democrat at her command. So much projection.. "We do whatever this ridiculous orange conman tells us, so other people must not think for themselves either!" Kind of like screaming "Fuck Joe Biden!" like it's going to hurt anyone's feelings. I'm sure there are people out there whose identity is entirely wrapped up in being Biden supporters but that's not actually a normal thing that sane people do. Just the latest example of Republican voters imagining something preposterous and then getting mad about it. Kraft is changing the color of Mac & Cheese to pink! WARGLBARGL!!! Addicted to outrage.
  16. It's just more white fragility "(minority) are the REAL racists!!1" fear mongering nonsense. Don't trouble yourself. Why is this in the Republican thread though? Does the Republican party have some kind of race issue?
  17. No problem when it was all these publicly-funded "charter" schools teaching "Christian Identity" white supremacy but uhohhhh
  18. If only we could say the same about the Pro Bowl. 1/2
  19. Seems like they say getting better at running it is a focus every offseason. During games, not so much.
  20. True of every position in the draft, which is why good teams try not to count on draft picks to start at key roster spots unless they're meant to be a franchise QB.
  21. There's a pie and 1/3rd of it is unaccounted for.. They've got far more cap space than most teams, let's not start with the poor-mouthing again when everyone can see it.
  22. and it's not as if they've been killing it with the trades & free agents, either. Cordy Glenn, Bobbie Hart.. It defies the odds & really does speak to coaching. A few were head-scratchers but for the most part everyone expected them to come in and contribute. The fact so few actually have can't all be scouting. Carman is just the latest OL that seems to have the ability but no discipline. Almost like he thinks he can screw around & only show up when he absolutely has to.. Now what would give him that impression? 🐸🍡
  23. I guess not drafting OL at all and trying to build one from free agents & trades instead? Seems to be the plan lately.
