  1. 1.) Mims is going to be the 1st tackle off the bench this year and should be the started next year at right tackle. 2.) Kris Jenkins is going to get a lot of snaps rotating with Hill and Rankins 3.) Burton is going to get a lot of snaps on offense - how often do they go 3 WR sets???? plus he's a capable outside receiver if Higgins or Chase get dinged up and need a break. 4.) Jackson should be a part of all the short yardage / goal line formations
  2. That's hilarious. Honest question though.... I don't pay attention to Cowboys stuff online - Guyton didn't have a ton of experience. Are they getting all the shit for that pick like the Bengals are? If Mims had gone to the Stealers, who were rumored to really like him, he'd have been considered a great pick. So is the problem with the general perception of Mims or the Bengals?
  3. From that article: “This guy’s got all the tools -- he’s got great size, he’s got great power,” Saban said. “But it makes you wonder, how did the guy only start 8 [games?] Like, in the SEC championship game, he played only the first 15 plays of the game and then he’s out. Takes himself out. I don’t know what he injured, what he hurt, whatever. But you’ve got to be a little bit more consistent in your performance if you’re going to be a great player and a starter in the National Football League.” - Nick Saban How many guys has Saban pushed to play injured in these championship games and they're not quite right or able to properly train to start their NFL careers. Doesn't he have a reputation for that? Seems like he's trying to say he's soft to me but I'm not sure I'd put much weight on Saban's opinions of a competitor's player being out of a game due to an injury.
  4. I expect the Bengals to start with 2 away games - Stealers should be up for game 1 (Browns & Ravens last 2 years) and someone like the Panthers. So, no I think we'll have to winnable games to start off the season. Plus it's not like everyone else on the team won't be practicing and I don't think Higgins or Hendrickson are going to just sit on the couch all summer eating chips ans salsa non-stop. I'd expect both of them to come in ready to go.
  5. I don't. Not this year at least. I could see him hold out until they start the regular season, playing and then "retiring" (without actually filing the paper work) immediately after the season to force a trade.
  6. The 1st two picks in that mock are good (Newton & Benson) but I can't imagine them drafting Wilson. With Gesicki and Hudson on the roster, you wouldn't need him as a pass catching TE. Not sure I'd see him as a future replacement for Tee Higgins or a current replacement for Tyler Boyd.
  7. Chiefs just trade in front of the Cowboys to take AD Mitchell????? or is it Worthy? gotta be one or the other
  8. NGL... I've been waiting days for BJ's pick threads to start. This is a great one - I didn't think he'd last but Latham would.
  9. Someone get a hold of Jason - we all want to change our picks now.
  10. I looked several weeks ago and it's the most drafted position by the Bengals in the 1st round over the last 20 years. CB is always a good bet for a Bengals 1st RD pick.
  11. This year he's going to predict JC Latham and that Cade Stover goes pick 104.
  12. So.... If Patrick Paul tested in the top 25 over the last 20 years or whatever and by all accounts had a good collegiate career, what exactly makes him a 2nd round pick other than the massive amount of group think done by the draftnik community. I seriously hate the shit that most of these guys peddle to fans as actual analysis but I guess the fans gobble it up.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if they add more IDL that are better at rushing the passer that they are at stopping the run. All the analytics are pointing to it being a more successful approach to be better against the pass than it is to be better against the run. The number of times teams run the ball appears to be trending downward too. I keep seeing articles all over the place about exactly that. All of the fancy charts and models show it. What if they go with Byron Murphy and someone else like Michael Hall Jr. That could add a lot of spice to the interior pass rush rotation.
  14. At the risk of interrupting your discussion on other team's fashion statements....
  15. Just curious.... How many DT do you have before you hit "meh"?
  16. I don't think they care about him having been on the Bengals. I think they've had second thoughts because he likely wants $10+mil and his role on their team wouldn't justify it.
  17. If they are able to trade Tee Higgins and the 18th pick for Nabers, they should do it.
  18. I did a mock draft on a different site that had Joe Alt drop. Seeing another one makes me wonder if there's something to that possibility. Probably just the sims being really goofy but there's always a chance it's all of the media blowhards that have been setting the supposed boards that could be wrong. Right now, I consider it a dream scenario.
  19. Just going back to 2000, you have the following 1st round OL picks: 2018 21 Billy Price C Ohio State 2012 27 Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin 2002 10 Levi Jones T Arizona 2009 6 Andre Smith T Alabama 2015 21 Cedric Ogbuehi T Texas A&M 2019 11 Jonah Williams T Alabama So, two interior guys compared to 4 tackles. The 2nd round is 1 Guard vs. 3 Tackles: 2003 33 Eric Steinbach G Iowa 2006 55 Andrew Whitworth T LSU 2015 53 Jake Fisher T Oregon 2021 46 Jackson Carman T Clemson What they do draft a lot of high is defensive backs. Tons of them in the 1st 2 rounds.
  20. Does anybody else understand WTF the Browns are doing with these guarantees on contracts? Like, hey - you're semi-mid - here's 3 years guaranteed at 5mil+ over your market value per year.
  21. Just for kicks, did a quick mock draft to see how people thought things were changing: 18.) Couldn't believe Joe Alt fell to our spot. Draft sims are kinda stupid sometimes and I can't get it to happen again. 21.) Just because, I traded Miami 2 2nd round picks (2024 & 2025). 80.) Grabbed the LSU nose tackle to add some beef to the D-line as Reader's hopeful replacement 97.) Came down to Brooks vs. Corum - I went with the guy that was more likely a threat in the passing game but thought about grabbing TE Sinnot 115.) Too good of a value pick since he's really only available there for the Tennessee incident where he got into it with the fans as they stormed the field. If they could handle Mixon's infamous punch, this one should be a nothing-burger for them. 149.) Random IOL shot in the dark - writeups on him sound good. 194.) Why not. I supposed this pick could have been a punter. 214 & 224.) CB picks with upside. 237.) Edge rusher with lots of upside. https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/user-mock-drafts/2024/user-mock-2408455
  22. It really looks like Boyd's market isn't taking shape. He's probably better off going back to the Bengals and making something work. I haven't seen anything negative from the team but there could have been something that the fans aren't privy to.
