  1. The Stealers are expected to be active in the market for over-the-hill (Rodgers) and never-quite-made-it-up-the-hill (Lawrence) quarterbacks.
  2. I hope this guy's disappointment and dejection from tonight's embarrassing loss are intense and long-lasting. I hope it means we see less of him and his brother, too.
  3. This list is shocking to those of us who grew up in the 80s watching the Raiders, Giants, Redskins, 49ers, and Bears winning Super Bowls and being contenders every year. It's interesting that the four newest franchises all made this list: Clowns, Jaguars, Panthers, Texans.
  4. The 9-8 record of 2023 should be considered a success. Once Burrow went down, the season could have imploded, but that didn't happen. That the team rallied around a backup QB and almost made the playoffs was evidence of some good leadership coming from somewhere. Not to mention, they played the first few games with half a Burrow. To me this illustrates just how underrated Ken Anderson is. It's a shame the man may not ever make the HOF because he "nEveR wOn a cHaMPioNsHiP", even though system quarterback Dan Fouts was never on a Super Bowl winning team but made it anyway.
  5. They had their entire championship lives in front of them, or so it seemed.
  6. It will currently only let me log in using "Display Name". Will email login only be available after the switch?
  7. I'm gonna go with history and predict that if the 1970s Stealers, 1980s 49ers, 1990s Cowboys, 2000s Patriots, and 2010s Patriots couldn't win three straight, then this bunch won't either.
  8. There is a surprising amount of blue in the stands at Arrowhead.
  9. They have a holding cell at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Saw it on the stadium tour a couple summers ago.
  10. Bills in the AFC, despite wanting Burrow to be the only active QB to beat the Chiefs/Referees in the playoffs at Arrowhead. Redskins in the NFC, despite their hideous uniforms. I know most of you give zero thought to uniform matchups, but this one would be hard on the eyes:
  11. It's startling to realize that five years from now, the Bengals will have played as many years at PBS as they did at Riverfront. It's been 30 years since the first round of stadium bickering began. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Daily/Issues/1995/04/11/Franchises/RAMS-MOVE-COULD-HAVE-BENGALS-BROWN-CHANGING-HIS-STRIPES.aspx
  12. I will confess that I have never been interviewed by her live on national ABC from the sideline of Ohio Stadium during the 3rd quarter of the Glory-Galaxy game, but I can't imagine her voice would be any less annoying in person, or her nose any less long and pointy.
  13. He has looked plastic since about his last year in the league. Did he have work done? Also, Erin Andrews' voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I have never understood her appeal.
  14. And the PHI head coach is a tremendous asshole. I hate that he flops and also his comically large helmet. I'm a bit torn in that regard. I hate KC but don't want to spend the offseason hearing about how Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson went into Arrowhead and won a conference championship game.
  15. Was really hoping to see the Chargers going to KC. Not because I like them but because I felt like they would've had a shot. I don't think Houston does.
  16. No, the point was to demonstrate facetious disbelief that it could really have been that long, even though it obviously has been. As in "No way! Oh, crap it HAS been 43 years!"
  17. This is not correct. The Freezer Bowl was in 1982, which was... ...crap, never mind.
  18. AFC South and NFC West are both pretty average, top to bottom, so I don't see an advantage for any of the four AFC North teams. The top three in the AFC West are strong, so not much difference there, but Cleveland has an advantage by getting the Raiders. I just don't see the "first place schedule" or "last place schedule" being a huge advantage or disadvantage next year. All things considered, I'm fine with the three unique opponents Bengals are getting, and it will be nice to not have to play KC again. And it's even facing the correct direction, unlike the way the actual one faced backwards. 👍
  19. T-Dub referenced what I was about to. I had read that Brown still maintained his authority to have the final say and that he didn't like to be challenged, so that was the reason for my original question. To me, Burrow saying those things about Tee in press conferences comes across as a challenge to management, and I assumed the top level of management was the guy who was listed as the president, the one who perhaps didn't like to be challenged, and that he still maintained that authority. Maybe he's a figurehead only, I don't know, but I've not seen nor read anything that would indicate or confirm that he is. Anyway, that's "wtf" I was talking about.
  20. I went back and looked at the results of the first two LAC-KC games and came to the same conclusion. LAC played them tough both games and KC has been the beneficiary of timely calls at the end of games and freakish plays that helped them get to that 15-2 record. I'm not saying they're not good, but they're not 15-2 good. And I'm still not convinced that going 24 days or whatever without playing won't have a negative effect, but I guess they know more about it than I do. Anyway, I think LAC have a very good shot at beating them. If they can, it will be glorious.
  21. They get whichever team is the lowest remaining seed, so it would be PIT if they win or winner of HOU-LAC if BAL wins.
  22. But why pull Carson Wentz out if he's doing well, if he does indeed end up doing that?
  23. * parent His mom raised him alone. There is no mention of his father or of who he is. Perhaps that may have contributed to his current challenges, I don't know. In addition to committing to LSU, backing out and going to Georgia, then transferring to Alabama, he attended three high schools in four years. He started out at Hapeville Charter Academy in Atlanta, then to IMG Academy in Florida, then to Calabasas High School in California.
  24. And what would be the reason for that, other than deliberately throwing the game?
  25. Likely a non-factor to most people, but what should be a beautiful game to watch is ruined by the awful logo placement on the Titans helmets. They're too lazy to remove one screw on each side, place the decal, then let the chinstrap overlap the logo.
