What about drafting a replacement for Willie in round 1?

Stacy Andrews is never going to play at Willies level. What about a guy like Marcus Mcneill of Auburn and grooming him for 1-2 years under Willie? Mcneil is 6'9 340 and projected mid first round. If he falls to us, he is good enough value that I could see us taking him.

Maybe McNeil can play both offensive and defensive tackle.....

I just don't think we would use a first round pick on a right tackle, when 1.) Our defense needs some major help, 2.) The right side is not Carson's blind side, thus is not AS important, and 3.) Good right tackles can be found in the later rounds and in free agency.

I do believe though that Kieft and Andrews are more than capable replacements at right tackle.

I believe Guichek will have a starting role on this line..Recall the Jacksonville game he played great going against Henderson and Stroud..

The only way I say we draft a replacement for Willie is if we pick up some guys in FA to sure up the defense

I guarantee that we will draft one or two offensive linemen this year. I just doubt that the will be very high picks. I'm guessing second day picks like last year.

Since any O-lineman we draft will not be expected to play much this season I reccomend we draft Albert Toeaina from Tennessee. He is 6'6", 355. He was a juco transfer so he only played two years at UT. He started both years, but everyone agrees that he is a raw prospect and needs a lot of work on his technique. We can coach a player and improve his technique, but we can't coach a guy into being 6'6", 355. His strenght is awesome, and the report from the Senior Bowl weigh in was that he carries his weight very well. He played tackle at UT, but I've seen him projected as aguard in the NFL. I guess this is because at the moment he lacks the good footwork required for pass protection.

If we can turn Stacy Andrews, who barely saw the field in college, into an OT then we should be able to do the same with a guy who was good enough to start two years for one of the best programs in the country.
