I think that our outrage of the end of season events has effected not only how we communicate to steeler scum, but to each other as well.

It wasnt this heated last offseason thats for sure.

Look I`ve said a million times in the past few years,
and NO ONE can dispute that Saddam Hussein was
responsible for this war.

I think it is pathetic that we finally make the motherfucker
abide by the terms of his surrender and now WE are the bad guy.

BZ can say whatever the fuck he wants. So can BJ.
And I should be able to say what I want back.
That`s how a debate and forum works isn`t it ?

I`m not a "chickenhawk". I`m just an American that thought
Saddam should have been taken out in 1991. Instead we
let him fester like a boil on our ass for over a decade.

Now that "boil" has turned into a bigger mess than it ever
should have been.

He should have been taken out years ago. We "allowed" him
to remain in power. He still would be in power if he would have
abided by the terms of his surrender. He would still be in power
if he would have heeded the ulitmatum, instead of taking it as
ANOTHER empty threat.

Let`s start blaming the person that invaded Kuwait, gassed the Kurds,
killed and tortured his own people, thumbed his nose at the terms of
his surrender for over a decade, and wasn`t about to change, instead
of throwing all the blame on Bush for a war that Saddam could have
avoided.

The fact is I love my Country. I`m thankful that I was born
in the Greatest Country in the World. I know that we are
a Country that does more for the good of the World than
almost every other Country COMBINED.

And I won`t stand by and let a bunch of people bash it
just because they have so much hatred for one political
Party or Person.

It`s really that simple...

How do you know that that girl wasn`t injured by a Insurgent or
a Terrorist`s IED ?

The U.S. Military isn`t there killing or wounding innocent people.
They`re there to keep the peace and train the Iraqi Military to
so they can keep the peace.

I`m sure there are all kinds of pictures you pull up of civillians that
were killed or injured in WWll ...does that mean it wasn`t for the
betterment of the World ?

I`m not saying that that little girl being injured was right or OK.
I`m saying that Saddam should be blamed for the war and
what has happened since.

I found this letter by David Wiggins that I think is relevant
By David Wiggins
Oct 11, 2002

Dear Soldier of the U.S. Military:

Considering the common practice of talking about "supporting the troops" in times of hostilities, I should let you know how I feel.

With all due respect, I want you to know that if you participate in this conflict, you are not serving me, and I don't support you. Speaking for myself, I feel those who participate will be damaging my reputation as an American, and further endangering me and my children by creating hatred that will someday be returned to us -- perhaps someday soon. Your actions will not lead to a safer world, but a more dangerous world of pre-emption and unilateral decisions to commit mayhem. I don't support that.

This talk of 'supporting the troops' is just another method our government uses to manipulate and control us. I don't support the troops, but I certainly fear for the lives of the troops. I would support the troops staying home. I regret that our so-called leaders have involved the troops in such a foolish, misguided undertaking. I would support the troops disobeying orders. I feel sorry for the troops' families. I would support the troops if they realized that the best way to defend their families would be to stay alive and healthy and resist this war.

The only people the troops are possibly serving are those who agree with this act of military aggression. Perhaps you are not even serving them if they end up suffering retribution for your actions.

Oh yes, and you are serving the President, of course -- the man who avoided combat duty and deserted his National Guard unit. You are serving the man who enriched himself through crony capitalism, shady accounting practices and insider trading while running multiple corporations into bankruptcy. You will be serving the man who lost the popular vote for president, but was handed the presidency by a Supreme Court influenced by his father and through voting irregularities in a state governed by his brother. You will be serving the man who, as President, turned the budget surplus into a deficit and presided over the largest stock market decline since the great depression. You will be serving the man who unilaterally withdrew from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, ignored the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and rejected the International Criminal Court and Kyoto Protocol on Global Warming.

If you are involved in an invasion of Iraq, you will be faced with some difficult ethical decisions. Are the Iraqi foot soldiers really the guilty party here? Is it reasonable to expect them to refuse orders to defend themselves against an invading force (you)? Is this conflict really necessary at all? If not, why kill these people? If it is, are there other means our Commander-in-Chief and others are not exploring that might prevent you from having to kill these people and possibly civilians too, and possibly die yourself or contribute to your friend's death? I'm glad I don't have to make those decisions.

I feel for you and the difficult decisions you must make. I hope this note frees you of any sense of obligation to serve me you must feel, and helps you make a conscientious decision that you will be proud to accept complete responsibility for making. Please pass the sentiments I expressed in this letter on to your fellow soldiers.

--- David Wiggins attended West Point and York Medical College. During Operation Desert Storm he left the Army as a conscientious objector. He is currently an emergency room physician.
I like it...I once had a very enlightening discussion with a group of Tamils in Canada over 3-15 beers.

They were a tough bunch, but very outgoing and friendly...And quite philosophical about their struggle.

Face it you`re a hypocrite. It`s OK for soldiers to be that way in a cause
you support.

Fact is the US military isn`t in Iraq to kill an innocent person, their family
and subjugate the entire nation.

If the US was going to subjugate Iraq...they wouldn`t be letting them
hold elections and turning power over to them...

They went there take out a dictator that wasn`t abiding by the terms of
his surrender. Now they`re there trying to keep the peace and training
Iraqis to be able to keep the peace and control their own Country.

Old you are making it harder for me not to pile on with others and point out the fact that you only support the killing and bombing of Iraq .... because you can sit here in comfort and not have to participate in it ....
I was hoping I wasn't going to have to get into it .... because Homer already did a nice job with the ownage .... but you are making it more and more difficult for me not to point out the glaring hilarity that you (like many others) only armchair cheer on a war and thus the economic benefit of it .... knowing that the most danger you might face today is burning your tongue on your eggs benedict <_<
