Actually he isn't the NL All-Star manager so to speak. Phil Garner of the Astros was picked for All-Star manager, and he picked Narron and the manager of the Pirates to coach with him. At least I think that's how it happened. I just looked it up because I thought it was strange. As for the game...

CTA513
9th inning and the games tied... Coffey shouldnt be pitching in a tied game if hes the closer.
JBandJoeyV
well techincally your closer should be the guy you trust the most to come into the game for an inning and shut the other team down, so at that point in the game it made sense to put him in trying to shut them down for an inning and hope that we could score a run in the bottom of the ninth to win it...hopefully harang and arroyo can win the next two for us
JBandJoeyV
on the positive side the astros lost, the dodgers lost, and the cardinals are down 2 in the ninth so we might not lose any ground on anyone

Having Coffey pitch the 9th in a tied game shows that Narron doesnt trust anyone else. That right there should show the Owners/GM they need to fix the bullpen. Bring up some young relievers and stop messing around with these old shits that have been released from other teams.

THey are supposed to be ur most reliable and trustable. U are expecting ur offense to put up a run in the 9th. If they dont put Coffey in then they show that they dont have confidence in their offense. AND if ur at home and dont have the lead going into the 9th then i guess u NEVER throw the closer in at anypoint in the game, not in extra innings either? cuz in extra's u wont be winning. This makes absolutely no sense at all. U put the closer in cuz he will shut them down in the 9th and give ur offense the chance to win the game without having to play come from behind. If Narron actually had a good bullpen to use he wouldnt have brought Coffey in with the game being tied.
