Bengals land three Pro Bowlers
By GEOFF HOBSON
December 19, 2006

3:40 p.m.

In the wake of their most disappointing loss of the season, the Bengals crowned three Pro Bowl players Tuesday as right tackle Willie Anderson and wide receiver Chad Johnson became just the fifth and sixth players to be named for a fourth time.

Carson Palmer became the first Bengals quarterback to go to back-to-back Pro Bowls since Boomer Esiason in 1988-89. Palmer, who didn’t throw a touchdown pass for the first time in nine straight games during Monday night’s 34-16 loss in Indianapolis, is still on pace to become the franchise’s first 4,000-yard passer despite throwing for only 176 against the Colts.

Anderson, who joined Hall of Fame left tackle Anthony Munoz as the only Bengals linemen on either side of the ball to go to four Pro Bowls, got word of his selection on the day he had an MRI on his injured foot that drove him out of Monday night’s game in the first couple of series.

Anderson and Johnson are starters and Palmer is a backup. Fullback Jeremi Johnson is a first alternate, running back Rudi Johnson and left guard Eric Steinbach are second alternates, and wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is a third alternate.

The AFC and NFC teams, selected by players, coaches, and fans, meet Feb. 10 in Honolulu.

No. The 2007 roster says nothing about Carson Palmer being injured. So, like I said, you were looking at last year's roster. Dumbass.

Next.

And you also said Palmer has had way more fumbles than Kitna ever did. I really don't think you have any room for calling people a Dumbass.

When i first looked at the 2007 rosters, it showed him as injured. So i guess it was a mistake. It has now been fixed and isn't showing that. All you had to do is say that is was a mistake, not reply and be a fucking dickhead about it. So go fuck yourself!!

It happens every year, but I was surprised that Tom Brady didn't make it over Rivers. He's got lousy WRs to work with, comparitively speaking, and he doesn't have an LT running it or a Gates catching it. Will Shields for KC (G) didn't deserve it, either. I actually thought that Mike Goff (yes, THAT Mike Goff) deserved it. He's had a really nice year for SD, and he's looked very good every time I've seen him play.

On defense, I didn't think that Zach Thomas deserved to go over Ray Lewis (and yes, I h8 the Ravens), and John Lynch sure as he-- didn't deserve to go either. I also thought there were better choices than Suggs at OLB, although I did vote for Adalius Thomas, who's having a great year. In fact, Bart Scott might be the best Raven LB. And I was happy for Aaron Schobel. He's been one of the best DEs in the conference for the past few years, IMO

In the NFC, Roy Williams going is a joke. He's a lousy coverage safety (great vs. the run, but has been continually exposed vs. the pass). Good to see that T.O. didn't get an invite, either. I was glad to see Aaron Kampman get voted in, and I also think Terrance Newman should have gotten a vote at CB. He doesn't make a lot of INTs, but he's excellent in coverage, and a good tackler in the run game.

No. The first time you THOUGHT you were looking at the 2007 rosters, it was still the 2006 rosters.
