Gaming PC

Recommended Posts

So. I've realized that my current setup is only good for playing games like TF2 and streaming HD movies to the tv and other devices.

I have been thinking about getting back into the PC gaming seen, but it has been a long long time since i cared about desktop hardware or video cards.

I was looking a an 8 core AMD cpu, motherboard, 16GB memory and 120GB SSD at microcenter.  Guessing my 9800 GT is now old and busted also.

Any one have any recommendations?

Here is my current setup.

Ben seems the type to build his own.

And I think he's just fine with the CPU, memory and SSD. Only thing I'm worthless for would be a recommendation on the video card. I've never gamed so never paid attention...

Probably build myself.  Going from Sata 1 to SSD will probably be mind blowing by itself.

You'll have a geek boner

I do have an SSD in my crappy dell work laptop, so i have some exposure i guess to the raw power.

Video cards is where i am confused.  I have no idea what is what or if my current card is garbage.

/i said i would never pc game again, but they keep pulling me back in.
