Ben
So. I've realized that my current setup is only good for playing games like TF2 and streaming HD movies to the tv and other devices. I have been thinking about getting back into the PC gaming seen, but it has been a long long time since i cared about desktop hardware or video cards. I was looking a an 8 core AMD cpu, motherboard, 16GB memory and 120GB SSD at microcenter. Guessing my 9800 GT is now old and busted also. Any one have any recommendations? Here is my current setup. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/22/2013, 13:47:37 Machine name: WHODEY01 Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130318-1533) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 07/23/10 17:10:34 Ver: 21.05 Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 4086MB RAM Page File: 3884MB used, 4287MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. -GoBengals-
are you looking to do a barebones kit and finish building it yourself? build from scratch? or buy something customized and already built?
|Elflocko|
Ben seems the type to build his own. And I think he's just fine with the CPU, memory and SSD. Only thing I'm worthless for would be a recommendation on the video card. I've never gamed so never paid attention...
Ben
Probably build myself. Going from Sata 1 to SSD will probably be mind blowing by itself.

Enon Bengal
The biggest thing about upgrading your video card is making sure your power supply has the juice to run it.
