Storm
BTW what are you interested in doing? I made a wood bar for the Storm Cellar without any plans, turned out great
|Numbers|
There's a bazillion sites with free plans. Sometimes I find plans on sites like Scrib which have a smattering of free stuff mixed in with the pay stuff. Or... Find something you like and make a template from the original with laminate or cardboard. Or... Design something original or a twist on an old idea. Make it out of scrap wood or plywood to mock it up. For instance, I made a letter holder from a picture of a candle / pipe holder I saw in an old revolutionary war era house. I don't use a fancy program to design projects in. I use Paint and to keep the scale in proper proportions. I use a scale of something like 100 pixels per inch. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Usually the design changes from what's on paper anyways. Maybe it's a difficult cut or piece that makes it impossible to finish properly. Sometimes you just don't know until you've made that first cut.
