milton has been pitching alot better recently... not to discount the shitty ass start and the fact he might still suck, but he has stepped it up recently... wilson hasn't even played... i'd call that wasted money, if you ask me...

casey is overpaid, but dunn is a one tool guy... he hits 2 mile high fly balls that hit the jet stream in cincy and go 400 feet... he's a decent hitter and can crush the ball, but he isn't a good hitter... so to answer your question, casey... we have pena to take dunns spot and kearns is showing all the non believers why he was an untouchable... i would love the outfield of pena, grif, and kearns... look at it this way, there wouldn't be many people taking third on a sac fly to right, and everyone would think twice about testing any of those 3 arms... all have unbelievable arms... dunn has a noodle arm... he should be a first baseman, but i don't how he would do as an everyday guy... but if we had to put kearns, dunn, griffey, and pena in the same lineup, you don't have many complimentary players... we would definately lead the league in solo hr's

He's on pace for 37HR and 110RBI.

It wasnt' me, but i'm sure he got a chuckle out of your post calling em out.

Rick, i think your exagerating the solo home run thing.

Griffey hits for avg, as will Kearns and Pena(in pena's case it's "I hope, and I think". We got freel, and lopez to set the table, both with above average speed and around .300 avg. Edwin is fast as well, and i think he will hit for both average and power in the very near future. I like our everyday nine, as long as Freel is in there somewhere. He's the damn plug that gets this motor going.

It's pitching, pitching, pitching.

Honestly, i'd rather have dunner over casey. Dunner's got 20 more Rbi's(63 vs 41), 200 points higher in Sluggin(.577 vs. .395), on base % is .030 higher(.390 vs .359). Dunn's got 72 walks to Casey's 29. And this is all with 40 less at bats. He is all around better than the double play machine.

Milton. He sucks. I would get rid of Casey just to dump his enormous salary, which could then be used to acquire more pitching. I'm also in favor of moving Dunn to first. Encarnacion has to step up and earn an infield spot for good. Freel can pull spot duty in the outfield to give Kearns, Griffey and Pena days off.
I like Casey as a person, and I'm not forgetting his great season last year, but we simply need more pitching to be competitive, and Casey isn't for shit this year.

do any of you actually think that the united dairy farmers man will actually use the money from caseys contract and buy pitching? i vote that he will put it into his pocket. and even if he does spend it do you think him and "the bottom line " man will know who to spend it on?
Not Casey.  They guy has 1 error all year, and is a .310+ hitter with 25HR power, and the leader in the clubhouse.

That is laughable. If that were true, then where is it?
He has so few RBI's right now, and hits into too many double plays. He's more we'll suited to wielding a giant two-handed bastard sword and hanging out at Renaissance festivals....

He hit 25 last year. He has done it before.

Figured you'd like that!
Seriously, Casey had a great season last year, and I like him, and he is a good player in a down year.
But the money has to come from somewhere...and I think at this point that Dunn is more valuable than Casey and can play 1B equally as well.

i think that this bad offensive season has to be put into context for casey... remember back a couple years ago he had some problems w/ his rotator cup, and didn't say anything to the trainers for a while... it was obvious b/c his production was cut in half for no reason, and casey has always been known as a GREAT hitter, not an average hitter... he didn't hit too many homers, but i don't care when he's pounding doubles in the alleys consistantly... but i think that his shoulder is still giving him problems and he is sticking it through, to see if we make a late wildcard push... i wouldn't be surprised if he shuts it down and gets another surgery if we fall out soon... that is the ONLY reason i would keep dunn right now, b/c of that very good possiblitly... casey was day to day on 5/25 this year w/ a bruised rotator cup... dunn is doing better, but his trade value is sky high right now... people can look past mediocrity at many other spots when you walk so much and hit so many homers...

but b/c i don't think we are the only ones that are thinking he might be injured, what do you think his trade value is right now... not good...
