  1. man this shit is wild AF. cool that its th elocal team, man college football wasnt talked about here, nothing but flags of teams from elsewhere, there are more big 10 flags in my neighborhood than CU or CSU. this has lit the city on fire, and i LOVED Deion as a kid, had his diamond to turf gear, his shoes, one of my favorite athletes. i still dont care enough to go to games, but ive sure as hell turned them on on saturday. so wierd that its the local team he hopped to.
  2. Callahan does 90% of the weekly gameplan, and install with the position coaches, everything that allows zac to be on the same page and call plays, callahan gives a few options and reasons and zac makes a call on gamedays, which is why we are s slight bit slow getting plays in sometimes, we have that extra step that very few teams have.
  3. it really does make sense, and its usually the opposite, offense always driving, rarely a 3 and out in the past, so this is probably a huge huge factor, which makes sense. agreed all around, how long does figuring it out take? honestly i think we are safe keeping Loud another year with the way the defense is performing. yea, agreed, a perfect storm of suck, what is the timeframe you predict before everyone is settled and running smoothly on that side of the ball? i cant decide if its 2-3 more weeks or like week 12. maybe it takes a few wins to get the confidence up in some guys, if you give up a big play and lose, it can eat at you, and lose confidence, if you give up a big play and get the win still, you can learn and grow faster for some people.
  4. yea just less often in BFE i assume, it popped up again today when we chatted, some kid/teammate on the basketball team, for no reason will just not fist bump teammates after practice and put on some hard persona, and he was trying to call them out solo later on, like hey stop acting like a chick your team is here to support, and dude is like "dont say that man you dont know what im going through" *roll eyes* so i had to be like dude you know he aint going through shit aside from being hung up on his ex who dumped him, but he THINKS he is going through some serious stuff, so dont push it, just blind support and move on, if you can help him out, cool, but he isnt gonna respond to being called out like you would if someone called you out. all the little shit. dudes 6'6" 210, my kids 5'11" 160. just let him be a hoe. hes there to hoop, get straight A's and have fun. nothing else is his responsability
  5. I didnt see much talk about it in the threads ive hopped in, if this has been addressed specifically let me know. The defense, is far underperforming my expectations. and I think perhaps its my expectations that are misguided. Seems opposing offsenses can just double and attack away from reader in the run game and while he is a MOSTER, those around him arent, and making him slightly less effective. we have face some really solid and unique run offenses so far so im not all in on this take just yet, but lots of 3rd and short plays im like "year just try to run up the middle" and they did... and they got it. but i see reader being mauled and them running 2 slots down. Cheeto has been average, which i guess is what i expected his top end to be coming off the injury, but that leaves us without a #1 corner really. CTB is a lot more effective as a solid #2 vs being ANOTHER #2 level guy. we have also faced some TALENT in the pass game the first two weeks, so again, not too hot on this take, but so far im unempressed, we arent getting that big stop we need to hand the ball back to joe. and frankly with the state of joe and the offense, we need those BADLY to compete. 2 3rd down stops that SHOULD have happened against baltimore and i feel we win that game. Cleveland is what it is, every aspect wasnt gonna work for us too well. Pass rush has been slow, but with guys open often its a lack of coverage lack of sack it seems. i see trey or murphy beating a guy like "oh shit here comes a sack" and the QB is able to pass quickly and get out of the situation. im not a fan of the pass rush but im willing to let that simmer a few more weeks. also the offense has hung them out to dry not sustaining drives and giving them a break. i dont have a ton to say about the LB's mostly good play but seems like they are a tick late on plays, but only two games in and the offenses we have faced i dont actually have a complaint here just yet. It feels like we are missing some dont think-quick reaction guys we lost in free agency and have some new guys in the defense and young guys in important roles. which we do, but somehow i expected more. Hill has been playing really well. he is the only one in the secondary i have been pleased with i think. am i off on anything? thoughts? ideas?
  6. not really his call, though obviously his opinion is valued greatly in the decision room. i feel like the decision may be something like "battle through all season, occasionally have a flare up and be down, or sit basically the season out" which wastes a VALUEABLE year of chase's career, higgins career, burrow is young enough, but Boyd even his contract, joe knows him sitting hurts a lot of people and likely closes part of the window of the current roster, feels like Tee may not be back, but who knows.
  7. writing an article stating F bombs as a valid point of something being out of hand is just insane, even in the midwest like cincinnati. jason williams fucking sucks. jesus christ. id love to eliminate alcohol, absolutely never happen, having the alcohol free sections is even a laugh, as they just walk out to the concorse and pound a beer and come back, halftime, etc.. as a non drinker id love it to be alcohol free. been educating my son on behaviors at events and in crowds and with people. like you can talk shit sports wise, when it starts getting out of hand know how to backpeddle out of a stupid situation. you NEVER know who is on the other end of a fight, and what, if anything, they have to live for, he has a ton to live for, its not worth it for some fun trash talk at a sporting event. he is off at school learning just how strange of a place people are in their own heads, people getting mad of the dumbest shit, learning peoples insecurities lash at as anger for no reason, etc. too many adults are living some fake "dont disrespect me" life where fighting or killing someone means less than being in an argument you walk away from and go on about your day. my kid growing up in parker colorado the whitest place i have ever lived, he isnt experienced in any crowd situations or fight situations other than white kids with feathered hair and some roid rage. he is in an even smaller town in nebraska for school so still not much variety, but there are kids on the football team from vegas, compton, houston, etc. buuuuut its still a private college that aint cheap even with sports scholarship. so i always teach him and point out stuff when at games na in other cities to try to prevent him from getting caught up in something violent over nothing. people are wild.
  8. every special teams coach just lost their mind on hang time doesnt matter. it might be all that matters. if youre gonna get chewed out over slight directional error for your coverage to run to hang time is a huge factor, you dont want ANY runbacks. IMO yea they never make a quick curtain call on anyone, he gets 8-10 weeks easy if not the season. man RB's are hoping for 100 all purpose yards these days. mcaffery magic ass is killing it over 100 YPG, aside from him only one guy is even averaging 90ypg, if RB's are getting hot its often in the short pass game. would love to see some good old fashioned running work tho for sure. lol its week 3.
  9. that team is built for that offense, like why they have a top TE and a WR playing running back its build for a safe QB, same reason he wanted jimmy G before, they run a just dont fuck it up offense. we are not built for that nor can you change your offense mid season, small changes, sure, but we are built for a top 5 QB doing top 5 QB things. thats about enough out of you. Interesting thought, do you guys think the team waits until they see what the rest of the division does? like if by chance, they all 3 lose sunday, we sit joe monday? as we wouldnt lose any ground? they play the titans, LV and colts, so i think its slim chance they all lose, but still an interesting thought. i think 70% burrow can beat the rams, and cards, and maybe even titans. i dont think there is a timeframe that makes him 100% sitting him. like sit him this week and next, not sure that does much, even sitting him through the bye week may have him at 95% and still can injure next game on a roll out. no idea what to think overall.
  10. oh and man kids are so disrespectful, i dunno if it was a short youtube video or this show video but mike hilton playing with some kids at an even, they didnt know who he was, which is fine, but one kid was like "where the real bengals at". i swear to god if that was my kid... mike hilton one of the top 50 corners in the world, taking his time to play football with you and stuff and just rude and shitty.
  11. oh the Brown family, i was like wut, fuck the browns. i get it now.
  12. oof thats interesting, seems like a NE thing to do. not sure statue boy would fair too well, but i dont hate it. fair enough, thats probably as important as anything, we are fucked at our backup let alone the third stringer
  13. i thought this was extremely obvious, was this news to people? just joe played in a bubble of options, throws and areas of the field even. i havent watched jamarr live answering this stuff, is the real live quotes with an attitude or are his quotes taken and skewed? id be pissed in a contract year too(basically) a partially injured yea then this... hurts the pocket book
  14. its always somethin. shit im on the PUP, been down 3 weeks as of today. the 1st was the last healthy day i had. light at the end of the tunnel though!
  15. i will not be in town, i have been sick in some form for nearly 3 weeks, had 6 days of the worst ive felt starting sept 2nd, then the following friday ended up in the ER with my oxygen around 74, was in the hospital for 4 days, been home, but still on oxygen since then, should be off oxygen by this weekend but not risking travel. I ended up with Legionnaires disease (wtf?!?!) a bacterial infection that caused pneumonia in both lungs, I have weened down from 6 oxygen to 1 and and keeping a 92-95 oxygen level, so i hope to be off in a day or two. Then the antibiotic had adverse effects with a statin i take causing muscle breakdown and burning and pain in my muscles hands and feet. So i cannot pickup certain things and have a constant pain in my feet currently as well. The pains seems to be lessoning, but still an issue. I hope to get to a game soon, but im off the books for a few more weeks.
  16. imagine that, pacman being harassed and arrested for damn near nothing, this thread sure got quiet. some real shitty humans in this place.
  17. cutting trevor is great, i expected to keep the vet, but nothing he has ever done has been impressive. Lapham was speaking on bengals QB decisions and he was like "yea they gtting cheap ones, they are gonna give joe a truck of money so the backups gotta be cheap" so i expected about as much, but old actions die hard in my brain.
  18. interesting, well who knows then, i was like 25 so i was grumpy about a lot of dumbass shit for no reason back then. i know i didnt see many losses in that building, or in pittsburgh.
  19. it definetly got to a point of me thinking to myself "we still talking about this guy" and made him look like not a fan with the mic'd up stands time, at a preseason game, wanting the fight song played, was clear he doesnt usually go to preseason. "people asking me why im showing up to this game," no one asked you that and its definetly the first time you have done so. seems like a super nice dude, happy he got those cool experiences, but they did for sure milk it. but i still enjoyed the whole thing, and love his golf shirt, they dont make it in fat enough sizes for my fat ass or id own one...
  20. im with both sides, here there WAS a knock on him for taking series off in college now and then, however i havent seen that when he has played, and attempting to gauge "fire" but a locker room interview is just sheer silliness, ever been in one of those groups or seen one in person? its awkward as fuck, 8 cell phones in your face, 5 more recording you, lights and a camera, all in your personal locker space backed up against it, its wild they allow it to be honest.. and we obviously know none of has has seen his face or eyes for that...fire... in a huddle or on the field.. Gunter offers nothing Murphy is even potentially missing, and Murphy in preseason hasnt played with the players he would be on the field with in the regular season. this is a post week 1 conversation, not a his eyes lack fire standing at his locker in august conversation, IMO.
  21. was good, i just watched, also a trailer up for episode 2. also skyline new bengals cup relelased tomorrow., lol
