  1. ah yea, i was all pissed that day, i forget why, i assume we lost, lol ah sweet, my kid never wants to do tailgate stuff, dan always wants to do tailgate stuff, so that may be sweet for MNF
  2. excellent, i am down for that, depending how serious basketball gets later in the month in september for my kid, might be the only time he can go aside from holidays or playoffs. if burrow isnt playing i probably wont go, however. fingers crossed. sweet we will see if us and the savages can link up. sounds like a plan! savages and I stayed at the springhill sweets by eden park(i think) last time they were in town, so may stay there just depends how the marriott points are workin that weekend. most likely flight is landing at 2:45 in covington saturday, but nothing purchased yet, waiting to see if i can swing it into a work trip and pawn the bill off on them.
  3. looking like the home opener and the MNF game are in my plans for now. if i do roll to the opener i think im immediately racing to detroit afterwords for a concert so will fly into cincy saturday, stay that night, then go to game sunday and fly out of detroit monday morning(one of the few cities that my son can fly direct to Omaha from to get back to school) for the Rams MNF game, ill come in saturday afteroon, the Savages will be in town also, go to reds game Sat night and/or sunday afternoon then bengals MNF fly home tuesday or stay the week for a work trip add on(and they can pay for the plane ticket that way). will also be in KC for the chiefs game new years, but thats all thats concrete so far.
  4. williams is probably the least talented runner of Brown, Evans and Williams, is he the best pass protector? hadnt considered that but that could be, BUT theyd have to give up on a young guy early to make room, but a savvy vet who was a cap cut could fit in real nice now that you mention it. a modern day kenny watson. he was the nocest guy in warmups, every game came over and fist bumped everyone and was nice to the kids and stuff in the field pass access area.
  5. absolutely disagree. wasting a first round pick on your 4th or 5th offensive weapon isnt to economical. low ceiling as a position unless you pull the next kelce out of your ass. id have rather taken a WR than a TE in the first. Wilcox gets bumper for tanner? certainly possible. always lean towards the guy you know vs the guy you dont, tho.
  6. this topic could not possibly interest me or concern me any less. to echo the others, 90% of the league is fucked of they lose the starting QB. whether we go 8-9 or 5-12 with jake or trevor i do not care.
  7. i bitched loudly and regularly about how weak of a bitch volson was last year. fingers crossed and hopeful the reports are true. i am concerned that ALL of the praise seems to mention his run blocking tho. that comment is like a bright red asterisk everytime its said, the left guard run blocking prowess is about the 8th most important o-line attribute im concerned with. but strength was his big weakness, seems to have the other characteristics of a good long term lineman.
  8. i hope he gets a sun burn, like one where its on your neck and shoulders and no matter what shirt you wear it hurts like hell. and early male pattern baldness
  9. https://www.bengals.com/news/how-to-watch-from-the-jungle-bengals-all-access?fbclid=IwAR1e2AX3J61v4uYuVd0km5ZCqTcp7Hi4WsF21Tk8EPR3HSBo6qAsMT5rCpk this should be ssweet, i always wondered why teams didnt produce their own hard knocks type shows each year... not like nfl fans dont want more access to the team.
  10. this is always where it gets interesting, Stanley and Thomas are teammate favorites and special teamers for life, they ahve to go someday, but is that now or in 2-3 years?
  11. Could easily be, but with Taylor having nfl experience and came up in big moments as well, there is always PS for Jones of the two Taylor is claimed way faster than jones id imagine. but who knows. i always think of how much the old bengals favored veterans (and the nuggets coach does that too so its ingrained in my head that veteran gets the no everytime) not a TON of variance in this group really.
  12. I dont have the attention span to do it all in one shot like this, i started some thread for top positions to get peoples thoughts as well. I think jake is on the PS and trevor gets the nod as the #2, id love to be wrong, i hate TS, and prefer your logic here, but the vet with starting experience almost always gets the nod and not likely a ton of risk having JB on the squad for emergencies.. I actually agree on the OLINE thought here def collins on the PUP and keep grooming what they have in the young guys.
  13. We keeping the typical 4 RBs? Locks: 1. Mixon 2. Brown 3. Evans? Williams start on the PUP? Can Tyler or Saylors grab a spot? Will they get put on the PS or how do you see it line up?
  14. This one might be pretty easy. But maybe not. if we keep 3 Locks: 1. smith 2. Sample and/or Asiasi 3. Wilcox? injury maybe sends him to the squad for safe keeping for now? is the third the other of sample or asiasi? are they the 3 no matter what? who can steal a spot? thoughts?
  15. Here is the 12 on the roster right now. Locks: 1. Chase 2. Higgins 3. Boyd Also probably locks: 4. Iosivas 5. Irwin OR Taylor AND? 6. Morgan or Chuck Sizzle? Garauntee cuts/PS offers: 1. Carter 2. Hippenhammer 3. Jackson 4. Lassiter II so really 4/5/6 spots i have are the decisions to be made. thoughts?
  16. im gonna spin off some threads from this topic i think, could be fun to have some individual pick-'ems about it
  17. a good Backup qb is one of those things that doesnt really exist. unless you have a bad starting QB. with Burrow we are a borderline superbowl team, without him we are a borderline playoff team, no matter who is back there. Trevor sucks, but the difference between him and browning starting over a whole season is probably 2 losses.
  18. aside from me not seeing much not to like about him as a person, you are correct, he got fucked pretty hard on this, but most everyone in here was ready to dry him up over and over anyway.. they dont much care if he did anything wrong.
  19. i do like Evans skillset, he is a playmaker, but he certainly lacks trust.
  20. this was very good to see. takes the worry in the back of my head away, if he can do all that now the opener is nearly 3 weeks out, bodes well for all being just fine.
  21. man my brain was a big wonky as turns out i had some health issues i didnt know about last season, and i cant remember random stuff, but i recall someone broke down some tendencies of inconsistency with Evans, i think it was his pass protection and then his routes or running paths were all over the place, like he freestyles shit too much like its still high school. but i dont want to say thats it if im wrong. anyone remember anything like that? i think i remember some big paly he made catching a ball across the middle in the playoffs or against KC or something they he ran wrong but worked out and someone mentioned it postgame. sorry my brain was shit.
  22. As i continue to get insanely old and grumpy, the thing that continues to be bothersome is the media in general, almost all social media is pandering to a hot take or catchphrase and no one os just talking football anymore. its a bummer, preseason it hard to watch in general but the only bright spots are when Duke was on the broadcast for the Bengals game, i mean thing for all the games i stumbled across watching, acting like anything going on on the field is exciting marvelous football is silly and the halftime shows or nfl network shows showing stat lines like its the playoffs is a waste of airtime. I fear the nfl is chasing the NBA where viewerships is TANKING ENDLESSLY in the NBA however revenue is skyrocketing, so the league could care less if you watch or go to games, as the marketing deals are paying for everything. and its going to crash and burn hard one day. some examples of my bitching reasons, is the statline for Fields, he was something like 3/3 128 yards and 2 TD. but he had some dump offs that got run for TD's, and shows acting like he is slanging it in the game. he didnt throw the ball past the line of scrimmage even one time. I love fields and think he is gonna be awesome, but why not have real coverage, "bears keep it simple and let fields test his new weapons, etc" would ahve been accurate coverage. then i scrolled through twitter seeing if i missed anything bengals related, and its nothing but one Carman highlight near the goalline saying how shitty he is and there is no excuse for that play and blah blah blah.. he didnt play great, but the play thats EVERYWHERE was clearly and obviously a blown snap count, the guard also had no idea wtf was going on, the center fucekd up the count. but that gets turned into a carman shit-a-thon by a bunch of 20 year old twitter champions wasting everyones time and brain power. and why the hell didnt CJ Stroud play more? if youre going to sacrifice your rookie to to the league, at least get him all of the reps you can in preseason. he threw 4 passes. thats my rant. i did enjoy the game though, Dax made great plays that made me feel better about him starting, Trevor sucks, but i think we all knew that. I cant decide if i want the O-line ti pla a series or two in the last preseason game or not..
  23. heeey.. i own that jersey he is wearing... my son with him as he signed it.
  24. i now have a pair of tickets to the bengals packers joint practice. i offered them to a friend, but havent heard back yet, so i assume he isnt wanting them, so if anyone wants them if he doesnt, let me know. pretty sure its a weekday at like 2pm but im too lazy to look.
