Round 1 - Draft Night Thread (2025)
There's legitimate concern to be had about every player selected in the draft. None of them have played a down in the NFL. A prospect outside of typically the top 5 is never a perfect one. Can we acknowledge that Stewart brings a boost in areas the Bengals were weak in last season? Can we acknowledge that's called improving the team? I think that's completely fair as well.

You mean his 79 QB pressure sin 37 games? That equates to 36 in a 17 game season. Turn even 50% of those into sacks that's an average of 18 a season. Seems kinda dece to me. PS those pressures come from both inside and outside, which brings a whole other level of value. Disruption creates chaos within an offense which leads to a finish, forcing a sack in another direction and/or a turnover. I'll take that on my team all day.

The Open For Business Draft Thread 2025 Edition
All the guards currently on the market will still be available after the draft. See how the draft falls, understand what gaps if any remain and sign one that fits the role still needed.

Same could be said for drafting a player from Notre Dame's defense for Golden.- Bengals Free Agency 2025
At this point I'm sure he would say that about any of the 32 NFL teams lol. EDIT: He wasn't re-signed by the Broncos following his rookie deal. He signed a 1 year deal with the Vikings in 2023, in September. Even having to wait after his August 1st visit. He then was not re-signed by the Vikings until 05/29/24, well after the draft. Not saying they shouldn't sign him, but his services don't seem to be very highly regarded within the NFL ranks. I'm guessing his free agent journey takes a similar path as the last two years. But that's an inappropriate timeline to the everything needs to happen at a social media thumb refresh pace.- Improved - Neutral - Worse - Offseason Phase 1 Roster changes
To add to your thought, I was googling in search of JB's own quotes about him extending plays which sometimes results in being hit / sacked. Instead AI did a nice job of summarizing it instead.- Improved - Neutral - Worse - Offseason Phase 1 Roster changes
IMO Duke Tobin has built multiple championship rosters across the Palmer, Dalton & Burrow eras. I believe it will happen again within the Burrow era, history points in that direction. The Chiefs were annual losers before Mahomes. Same with the Patriots prior to Brady. I don't think he should be discredited because he was able to draft Burrow 5 years ago.- Bengals Free Agency 2025
Seems like a nice hypothetical? Which DT could they have traded for that would have "saved the season?" One DT was traded at the NFL trading deadline in 2024. Khalil Herbert for a 6th rounder to the 49ers who was then inactive for 6 of the 9 games once the 49ers acquired him. He has 3 sacks and 46 total tackles across 4 seasons. Not exactly lighting the world on fire. And on the topics of trades, the Bengals did complete an in season trade for a RB due to the Zack Moss injury. By the trade deadline Jenkins and McKinley were back and were contributing on a level well above of being inactive like Khalil.- Bengals Free Agency 2025
Once they got at least somewhat healthy they finished the year 5-0 and were widely talked about as the team "no one wanted to play in the playoffs". Whiach had they gotten in I think Burrow and his go for the jugular mindset could have done some damage. LB and the secondary will be IMMEDIATELY better with the return of Wilson, Hill and Turner along with the removal of aging Hilton & Bell for youth as well as Jenkins/McKinley not missing the first 7 weeks or whatever it was due to injury. They legit had something named Lawrence Guy starting at DT at one point. Schematically the defense I also believe will be an upgrade to where they're not bleeding 30 points a game by not playing bend & break defense. Along with Orlando Brown Jr not playing on a broken leg nearly all season before going on IR. All that before any draft reinforcements where I believe they get at least a difference maker at a pass rush or protecting position that makes a difference. Or maybe both. So in summary, agree to disagree it seems.- Bengals Free Agency 2025
Guess that's one way to look at it. I'm of the mindset that they can win it all even as soon as this year but I know that's not popular opinion around here these days.- Bengals Free Agency 2025
For all of the whining around here we sure don't have it that rough and the outlook is still extremely bright. Maybe some day people will appreciate what we have in the moment. Here are the last times each NFL team made a Super Bowl appearance: Kansas City Chiefs: Super Bowl LVIII (2024) Philadelphia Eagles: Super Bowl LVII (2024) San Francisco 49ers: Super Bowl LVIII (2023) Los Angeles Rams: Super Bowl LVI (2021) Cincinnati Bengals: Super Bowl LVI (2021) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Super Bowl LV (2020) New England Patriots: Super Bowl LIII (2018) Atlanta Falcons: Super Bowl LI (2016) Denver Broncos: Super Bowl 50 (2015) Carolina Panthers: Super Bowl 50 (2015) Seattle Seahawks: Super Bowl XLIX (2014) Baltimore Ravens: Super Bowl XLVII (2012) New York Giants: Super Bowl XLVI (2011) Green Bay Packers: Super Bowl XLV (2010) Pittsburgh Stealers: Super Bowl XLV (2010) Indianapolis Colts: Super Bowl XLIV (2009) New Orleans Saints: Super Bowl XLIV (2009) Arizona Cardinals: Super Bowl XLIII (2008) Chicago Bears: Super Bowl XLI (2006) Las Vegas Raiders: Super Bowl XXXVII (2002) Tennessee Titans: Super Bowl XXXIV (1999) Dallas Cowboys: Super Bowl XXX (1995) Los Angeles Chargers: Super Bowl XXIX (1994) Buffalo Bills: Super Bowl XXVIII (1993) Washington Commanders: Super Bowl XXVI (1991) Miami Dolphins: Super Bowl XIX (1984) Minnesota Vikings: Super Bowl XI (1978) New York Jets: Super Bowl III (1968) Cleveland Browns: N/A Detroit Lions: N/A Houston Texans: N/A Jacksonville Jaguars: N/A- Keeping Our Enemies Close: 2025
And my guess is if he does go there Arthur Smith (run heavy scheme) and him will be battling on the regular.- Bengals Extend Ja'Marr & Tee 🧡 🖤
Or maybe, Andrew / Florio, it's just that the times are different contract-wise. And since the times have changed, the Bengals had never had to sign multiple stars at one time to these kinds of guaranteed contracts until these 3 (sounds like soon to be 4). Singularly, you could argue AJ Green who got $60M with $32.75M guaranteed which 10 years ago was probably the norm across the NFL. The two who seemingly can't stop talking about the Bengals, Palmer & Whitworth, both signed extensions with the organization they love to gripe about. Made Carson one of if not the highest paid at the time and Whitworth signed multiple extensions.- Your mock offseasons/Wishlists 2025
Kind of like how players claim they want to play for a championship caliber team and then settle for the highest dollar value in places like Cleveland and Pittsburgh (Garrett / Metcalf).- Bengals Extend Ja'Marr & Tee 🧡 🖤
And Tee was so happy with that representation that he fired him.- Bengals Extend Ja'Marr & Tee 🧡 🖤
The first sentence is incorrect. And now they have him signed until 2029 so...who cares...?- Bengals Free Agency 2025

You're right. Last move of the offseason. Season over.- Report: Bengals are rebuffing Tee Higgins trade interest
And the initial reports were he wanted to play for a "competitor" and now it's he wants $30M a year. Hard pass if I'm running a competitive team.- Cincinnati Bengals Release Alex Cappa, Add Extra Cap Space Ahead of Free Agency
