Guest Bengals1181
Let me try this again. It won't be as detailed as the one I just made that the site deleted... akiliMVP
1. Mahelona is not a first round pick, he's a second rounder at best 2. Pat Watkins is the twelth best safety in the draft, I hope one of the better ones are still available in the second round. 3. Like it 4. Why not 5. Hester is a third rounder, his speed and athletic ability are just too amazing for anyone to pass up. 6. Sure 7. Yep

As for Watkins, he's listed twelwth on the site I posted, but he's rated higher on many other sites. I like his size speed and athleticism. He also comes from a very good defense that knows how to get the job done (like Pollack and Thurman). He'd be a great complement to Madieu. Weaknesses: [u]Must hit the weight room and get stronger...Needs to bulk up...Not overly physical or explosive despite his size...Inconsistent...Struggles a bit and gets turned in man coverage...Has some minor durability concerns...A bit of an underachiever who didn't always play up to his ability...Only two years of starting experience. Guest Whodey420
No way in hell that Devin Hester lasts until the 5th round.....Someone who is raw but still has experience at WR and CB let alone can be a special teams beast as a returner with 4.29 speed last until the 5th round......If we were able to get him in the 5th round I'd be estatic but no way it happens.....He's gone by no later than the bottom of the 2nd round. My 4 and 5 can flip as I'm sure not many know about the kid from Indiana. As for Pat Watkins, if his biggest knock is that he has to hit the weight room, that's pretty impressive to me. Remeber the rumor that came out after the playoff game that said that most of the secondary was possibly going to be cut??? Well if that happens, we need to start building depth.
Greg Brooks will be atleast a solid backup for the Bengals for the next few years, if not a starter. He's really good in press coverage and was one of the best deep cover corners to come out of the 2004 draft. He can tackle aswell. Just needs to bulk up slightly - only weighs 177lbs. He's also a solid player on special teams. Give this guy a shot and I think he'll perform. I know he had amissed tackle in the KC game but put it down to inexperience and actually playing CB for the first time in a regular season game. He actually played quite well in the KC game and covered well. He's pretty quick, alot faster than Ratliff.

Guest fredtoast
Mahelona was projected as a first rounder BEFORE the '05 season. In '04 he had a monster year leading the SEC in tackles for loss (18.5) and adding 5 sacks. His numbers really dropped of in '05 with only 2 sacks and 8 TFL. He was still the starting tackle on the nations #2 rush defense in '05, but I'd say he has dropped down to second round status. Some "experts" have him going in the third. I'd be thrilled shitless to get him with our second round pick, but not our #1.
Guest Bengals1181
My Mock revisited (I'm expecting a DT in free agency): Rd. 1 Darnell Bing/Ko Simpson/Donte Whitner (or huff in the unlikely chance he is around) pick up any of them if they are still on the board. All will be solid safeties. Rd. 2 Cedric Griffin, S/CB, Texas Height: 6-2 | Weight: 193 | 40-Time: 4.52 http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...ricgriffin.html His stock is really rising. I was high on him before, and then he had an outstanding Senior Bowl yesterday. Can play safety, and CB. Marvin's kind of guy. Rd. 3 (assuming someone makes KW an offer)Dominque Byrd, TE, USC Height: 6-3 | Weight: 260 | 40-Time: 4.85 http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...iniquebyrd.html Had a great Senior Bowl. Will slip because of the depth at TE. Deceptive speed. Rd. 3 Dusty Dvoracek, DT, Oklahoma Height: 6-3 | Weight: 298 | 40-Time: 4.94 http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/27/273941.jpg http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...tydvoracek.html Not as builky as some of us want, but has very good speed and burst. Has a pollack-like motor and work ethic. Minor off-the-field issues (that can be solved with maturity and Marvin's guidance) will cause him to drop, which is how Marvin likes them. Had a solid Senior Bowl. Rd. 4 Willie Reid, WR/RB/PR/KR, Florida State Height: 5-10 | Weight: 186 | 40-Time: n/a "Among the most valuable Seminole players who is effective in every position he is asked to play...extremely versatile player who has seen time at wide receiver, tailback and as a returner during his career...enters the 2005 season as one of Florida State's starting wide receivers...a durable performer who has played in 34 games during the first three years of his career...has played in three bowl games during his career - the Sugar in 2003, the Orange in 2004 and the Gator in 2005...enters his senior season with 1,397 all-purpose yards during his career...named the top offensive newcomer as well as the most improved running back during spring practice in 2002 by the coaching staff. " Would be a solid punt returner. Can also provide depth at RB/WR and can play special teams in general. Rd. 5 Anthony Montgomery, DT, Minnesota Height: 6-5 | Weight: 305 | 40-Time: n/a http://www.gophersports.com/PhotoArchive/2...thony%20058.jpg http://www.gophersports.com/sports/player....sport_id=mfball Has good size for a DT, a classic 2 gapper that can draw the double team, and beat it. May not make it out of the 4th round however. Rd. 6 Mark Anderson, DE, Alabama Height: 6-5 | Weight: 253 | 40-Time: 4.80 http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...rkanderson.html Honestly don't know too much about him, but he impressed me during the Senior Bowl. Rd. 7 Paul Walkenhorst, LB (move to DE), BYU Height: 6-6 | Weight: 266 | 40-Time: 4.55 http://www.byucougars.com/football/profile...000961_ftb.html Has very good speed for his size. And I just can't see us taking a TE in round 1 when we can get a very good one in Round 3. As for Chris Wells, maybe that made sense in your own little homeristic world. The man has to take a college snap before he can be considered a "can't miss" NFL prospect (not to mention the thread was about 2006 draft prospects).
