Have a spare handy! You will be happy you did when the time comes!

We have a 57" Mitsubishi, under a year old still and the damn lamp went out last friday. Happen on Friday which sucked cause had to wait till monday, and should have a replacement lamp tomorrow via mail. It sucks having to watch the small 20" tv now :D, glad it didn't happen during the season. Luckily still being under warranty the lamp is covered, but i'm buying another one just incase in the future.

Think about it!
how much do they cost, and are they easy to install ?

i think i have a 51 or 52" Viore.
I'm sure it varies between models but the one I have is extremely easy.. 4 screws to remove the panel.. 2 thumb screws then the lamp assembly slides out, slide the new one in and you're...

" good to go! "

The panasonic TY-LA1000 is one of the most popular ones we sell, and we sell them for 255.60 regular price.

I think I could get a deal on it though.

There are more, I just don't feel like looking right now.

A friend of mine bought a floor model DLP for a really discounted price.
The bulb went out about a month later.

Lucky it was under warrenty so the replacement was free.

I told him he should get them to send an extra just in case.

plasmas ?

LCD ?

or DLP ?
I'd say that in this day and age, Plasma and LCD are both pretty close comparisons, and are probably the best TV you can buy.

The big debate...

IMO.. if you're on a budget, DLP is the way to go.. more screen for your money vs plasma/lcd. Also LCD are still to small, for those of us that want BIG, (ya they come 65 inch now, but for 10k.. and they are always showing 80/100 inch LCDs @ trade shows but never see them for sale)

If you're a big baller.. forget all the damn TVs, get your self a nice HD Projector, HDTV tv tuner, and a 100+ inch projection screen! And you'll still come out cheaper vs buying some $15,000k lil 70-something inch plasma!
