fredtoast Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 The Titans have a lot of cap space, but the also have A LOT of free agents. I was listening to Titans announcer Mike Keith on the radio last night and he said that he doubts that the Titans will be able to keep DE Antwan Odom or DE Travis LaBoy. I'm pretty sure they will keep one of them, but they are both great young prospects. DE Antwan Odom, 6-5, 275, 26 years old, 35 career starts. Injuries limited him to only 2 starts in '06, but he had had a breakout season in '07 with 8 sacks and 7 tipped passes. DE Travis LaBoy, 6-3, 260, 26 years old, 20 career starts. Pass rush specialist. Had 6 sacks this year, and 19.5 for his career. Keith thinks that Odom will get a big contract despite the fact that you usually don't hear him mentioned as a top free agent. He is more of an every down player than Laboy. However Keith says that Laboy is the best pure pass rusher on the team, and that is a pretty big statement considering that Kyle Vanden Bosch had 12 sacks this year and has 30.5 over the last three years with the Titans. I thought that LaBoy and Odom might have racked up these high sack totals because opposing teams concentrated so much on Vanden Bosch, but Kieth knows the team better than me and he says LaBoy is a tremendous pass rush specialist and Odom has star potential. DanvilleBengal Posted January 25, 2008 Report Share Posted January 25, 2008 Nither one of them would remind you of the Freak or Kevin Carter, but if they bring more than just a bull rush and actually get to the QB onece in a while, then take a flyer. It's about time that we grabbed someone that is young and upcoming, not old, used, and worn out. I don`t think this guy is a differnce maker. 8 sacks from this guy playing with the titans . Might be 2 with the Bengals. I`ll keep Smith before I sign this guy.
