I guess I just see that the casualties are dropping big time for both military and civilians...

And maliki is starting to gain real respect from the shiites and sunnies, which is a key step towards a stable and effective government...

I just feel like we are on the brink of being ABLE to bring our guys home safely...

I don't know enough about Vietnam to know exactly what happened there, but I guess I have a hard time understanding how us getting out of the way and let them massacre each other will be a very bad thing for that area... When things start to finally look somewhat up, we are ready to give up? I don't see how it can be disputed the the surge has had an effect, and if we just stopped with the extra troops, it would go back to where we were before the surge...
Agreed. That is why I want a tax cut and spending cut republican... ;)

How about the 323 billion a year illegals drain off our economy each year...
Or, the career welfare employees... (and I'm referring to the ones drawing)

Good examples...

That is exactly what everyone here is advocating...

Try the actual pork projects. The shit that gets interstates built in districts that just coincidentally increases real estate values for politicans in that district so they can sell them for an immense profit. And this is on both sides of the aisle - don't think I'm pointing a finger at one party more than another.

the only money we waste is the military and the iraq war... the rest of the stuff, we are only buying diapers and health care for poor defenseless babies... Are you opposed to health care for babies Vol?

:)

Yeah ... because half of the original population has fled or are dead.

It's natural that as the place turns into an apocalyptic pile of rubble with more corpses than citizens ... that of course attacks on the occupying Americans will go down.

Is this victory though ?

Hell we could nuke the place and violence would go WAY DOWN ! and the insurgency would dissapear ! Along with the country.

The welfare mother at least spends her vouchers at the local Krogers and the money stays in the community. Most of our Iraq money literally burns up into thin air ... or is shipped back in flag drapped coffins. (note that guy is no longer a tax payer)

Hell a highway to nowehere at least employs Americans and gives good paying jobs while pumping money into the economy.

But blowing up and rebuilind roads in Baghdad with outsourced South Asian wage slaves doesn't benefit Americans one dick.

You dont get it Rick. Things arent looking up, the brutality Sadam had that kept those people fearful of him and under "control" has been transfered to the police to make them fearful of them and under "control". Nothing has changed other than the people who are the ones being brutal. When we leave and our support/training/funding of that police force dies down, expect things to get worse. Untill there is a war and the factions come to realize that there will be no Iraq just three seperate countries that they have agreed upon after tiring of fighting with each other will things get better.

Well one thing ... before the genocidal madmen wore western garb and were secular.

Now they all have beards and take orders from Mullahs.
