Most Americans would pay less taxes under President Obama than McCain

I watched it.

CNN supports Obama over McCain, and has the numbers to prove it?!?! Stop the presses!!!

Obama the socialist is going to create even more government programs to "take care of us" and bail us out of the messes we are in, just like Hillary the socialist promised she would have.

The term "nanny government" applies as well.

At least with McCain you know he is going to do such cold blooded shit that people really will have to wake up and take notice of the manipulated, dictated and controlled political process they think they are participating in.

But then we would miss out on all this Obama "change" I keep hearing so much about... :o

Hmmm "Decision 2008" indeed!!

You do realize that they did not "compile" the #'s (that was done by a non-partisan group) ... they just reported them.

But hey ... until you hear it from Alex Jones

Good to know

But at the same time, I want less government not more.

Seems like the same people who bitch about that the government sucks, also want the government to bail them out of every mistake they make and be their full time nanny.

Like bailing out people who took out mortgages that they knew damn well they wouldn't be able to afford if the interest rate changed, which they knew would probably happen. And then people try and blame the "evil predatory lenders". It's just like people who sued McDonalds cause they got fat eating that shit everyday. It's your own fault, cause you made the choice. They gonna have to just suck it up and deal with it. I don't want my tax dollars spent to help someone who made a bad choice in judgement...........then again we could just borrow the money from China to handle it.....

I'm all for lowering taxes whenever possible, and taking the lowest tax option. But Obama is playing the class warfare card here, betting that most Americans view wealthy people not as hard-working people who earned what they have, but as spoiled evil criminals who must have either inherited or cheated there way to wealth since there is certainly no legitimate way anyone could make that much money. Bullshit.

I don't know about you guys, but someday I hope to be one of those wealthy people. Being poor sucks. Rather than trying to empower people to become rich themselves, he's removing all incentive for people to make more money and increasing the incentive for people to stay right where they are. How is this helping anyone? He's playing up this notion that rich people "owe" everyone else something since they must have taken advantage of poor people along the way to get where they are. Again, bullshit.

Even IF these tax plans get implemented, which chances are neither one actually will, if you believe that your taxes are going to stay this way when Obama bankrupts the country with his healthcare plan, I've got some land in Florida to sell you. Really. I'm gonna need the money.

And I'm not even going to get into the supply-side economic problems with Obama's plan. They should be fairly obvious if you think about it.

Quick, somebody look up that statistic of how many days in Iraq would fund health care for every American citizen for an entire year.

It wasn't very many.

Our tax dollars and the money paid for war are 2 separate things.

Low blows, fellas. I would surmise this is the product of general misinformation floating around.

Actually, I, too, frequently tell myself "It's not your tax money running amuck in Iraq," because it makes me feel a little better to think that my money isn't being pissed into the sands.

Our tax dollars being wasted... agreed.

What I think is hilarious is the only argument I hear is the "war".

What about welfare?
What about Medicare / Medicaid?
What about pork projects?
etc.
etc.
etc.

I agree that the war is expensive, but I guess it is also the easiest and sexiest thing to point to when complaining about wasting tax dollars.

right on... money is being wasted in just about every way shape or form... if we were all smart, we would band together and fight against wasteful spending in washington (something we can all agree on), but instead we are too busy arguing about which one to attack first, while not a damn thing gets done... lets finish up and bring home our guys... lets not making such rash decisions in the future... lets give the president line item veto to cut spending... lets continue to weed out welfare and make it the temporary crutch it should be... lets tackle the MASSIVE problems that we ARE GOING TO FACE with medicare/medicade and social security... lets balance the budget... its not brain science...

"We don't pay taxes...only the little people pay taxes" - Leona Helmsley

Canada has a pretty f'ed up tax system. could be simplified, but it is progressive at higher levels of income. Which I find really strange about the US one, whereby someone like Warren Buffet for example, pays less on a % basis then his secratary.

And, we're back to the war on Iraq...

How long will welfare last? Lemme guess, more than 100 years...
What about pork project waste? Forever...
How long will illegals continue drawing against our tax dollars? Too damn long...

Again, I don't want to argue the point - but why single out one wasteful item when there are a freakin platter of them to choose from? And, it seems to me that many would be more simply remedied than the appropriate evacuation of Iraq.

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Ok kids...which of these wasteful things being spoken about are simply wasteful and not wasteful based on false pretenses??

Did you guess which thing was not like the others?
Did you guess which thing just doesn't belong?
If you guessed The Iraq War is not like the others,
Then you're absolutely...right!

Whatever works for you.

If you think the other crap, pork and welfare system in particular, aren't on false pretenses - well one of us is kidding ourselves then.

Jamie - people have more babies so they can get more welfare money (until the cap was put on to stop some of it but they still go up to the cap regularly). What does our government do? They make it so easythat many of them if they could fill out an application (any application - don't think job because they don't want to work) that required them to state their occupation would proudly put "Welfare".

Senators and representatives regularly "advocate" for projects in their districts that are supposedly needed but come to find out that it significantly increased property values to properties that they undoubtedly owned but then sold at a handsome profit... not false pretenses???

Illegals drain billions off our tax rolls each year and we can't get a handle on it for a variety of reasons... yet none of the politicians will acknowledge that they're pandering to these illegals so as not to piss off a voting base... not false pretenses???

Come on. Now, if everyone wants to argue the Iraq war not from a dollars standpoint but from lives lost - entirely different argument. But, that one, to me, seems the most wasteful.

The arguments used to go into Iraq... didn't Clinton say the same things in 1998???

No look I argree that we should be looking at others as well, and I absoutly agree with you that the lives lost are the most wasteful, and that's really the worst kind of waste isnt it?

Who said I was choosing sides politically, if Clinton invaded on false pretenses I'd be just as pissed.
