CincyInDC Posted August 29, 2012 Report Share Posted August 29, 2012 My girlfriend and I were evacuated Monday night because an American WWII bomb was found at a construction site about 800 feet from our apartment. There are lots of bomb-defusing experts here because there are LOTS of unexploded bombs all over the place. Munich is estimated to have 20,000 such bombs in its soil. This bomb was particularly evil. It had a time-delay chemical tail fuse, which means it was supposed to detonate hours after bombardment. That's bad enough, but the fuse was designed so that if you attempt to remove the fuse, the bomb detonates. I guess that's how war works. Anyway, the experts tried to defuse the bomb to no avail so they blew the mother up. [/quote] yes, they seem to have forgotten the first lesson. My work colleagues gave me some crap yesterday...something along the lines of, "well [i]your [/i]country dropped that bomb. It's only fair that [i]you[/i] are inconvenienced." I told them they shouldn't have let an Austrian run their country. You don't see Arnold living in the White House, now do you?
