Yep.  College football is becoming more like the NFL.  It's a LONG season if you are going to win the National Championship.  You are probably going to lose a game or two, and that's OK.  It's not going to keep you out of the playoffs, and that embarrassment might prove motivating.  Worked for both OSU and ND. 

 

Now, losing to your #1 rival four years in a row will require some pretty fancy winning, which Day accomplished.

Even that is getting sort of NBA-ish. The basketball factories still churn out their collections of one-and-dones, and the glitz is increasing by the year. But yes, an occasional James Madison or Pepperdine is refreshing to see.
