if palmer goes down, we are fucked either way.. i would rather see graham play QB than kitna, then atleast we can say "well shir man he IS a kicker, what do you expect" when he throws two picks and fumbles a hike and single handidly loses a game for us in a playoff hunt...

with kitna... we just have a shitty QB..
[post="158308"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
... He throws more TDs than INTs and wins more than he loses for Marvin. Nothing more to be said on that. Kitna's why we finished 8-8 last year instead of 6-10. I doubt Bramlet could even have won against the Eagles last year.

wrong, kitna is the reason we finished 8-8 last year instead of 9-7 or 10-6, and as stated above, if we arent making the playoffs, i would rather say "wel he has had no NFL experience, so he made rookie mistakes(this of brmalet) he will grow and get better..

isntead of

"jesus christ kitna fucking sucks... oh my god... wheres david klingler?" abouta "player" with nearly 10 years of nfl experience...

i prefer my losing to have a logical backspin such as rookie year or a kicker palying QB, instead of having a terrible QB completely useless on all counts.

Explain this position to me, please. Are you saying Bramlet would have engineered a 2 touchdown comeback against New England, at New England, come home and beaten the Bills and their #2 ranked defense, Beaten the Giants, and handed it to the Eagles? At the very least, you believe Bramlet could have done 3 of the 4? C'mon man. The Bengals didn't even think enough of Bramlet to keep him over Krenzel.

You're actually saying you'd rather this team had given up the entire season when Carson got hurt. We were still very much alive in the playoff hunt until the loss against Buffalo. I'd rather try and win games than build in excuses for quitting on a season. Kitna couldn't overcome a 2 touchdown deficite against the Pats, nor could he beat the Bills #2 defense. Name me a backup quarterback that could. Heck, name me a starter who could comeback against the Pats, or beat the Bills late last year. The only teams the Bills lost to in the last ten games of the season were the Pats and Steelers.

if palmer was to go down, would you guys want kitna or krenzel to continue our playoff run??

saying kitna isn't a good qb is a joke... compared to peyton, he sucks... compared to krenzel, he is hall of fame material...

trading kitna would be retarded...

You people who want to get rid of kitna are flipping crazy!!!

All backup QB want that starting job, Kitna is no different, but he also sees that Palmer is our best chance to win. He knows that if he helps Palmer along both in and out of football it will make Palmer a better QB, giving the bengals a better chance at a Playoff run, and Superbowl.

Kitna does not want to compete for the starting job, he is willing to be the backup.

The bengals gave him a contract out, Kitna said no, lets work something out so i can stay a bengal.... This guy is DEVOTED to the bengals, you dont find many backup that are Devoted to a team!!!

I'll take JK over any draft pick!

Apparently there is a report the Jets have signed Testaverde... I guess if they can't win anymore games, they might as well try to get some fans to show up for the senior tour. :)

PS If Bramlet was capable of winning in the NFL, he wouldn't be sitting at home waiting to hear a response to his job application at the local paper mill.

The Jets did sign Testaverde..We should not give up on Kitna..He has been a great mentor for Carson. And we should not take the Texans lightly. They are coming off a bye week and are not as bad as they have played so far..they have some talent.

Trading Kitna would not be retarded... It may not be the best decision but it would not at all be retarded. If we could (and the Jets would never take this trade) get a guy like Henderson or Ferguson, I would trade it instantly. All Marvin has preached, and a lot of Bengals fans here, is that we are trying to win in the now. Henderson or Feguson would upgrade our defense even more than it is now and help us push for the playoffs (see Corey Simon to the Colts).

I'm sure Kitna is a great team player, and I'm sure he helps Carson out, but I feel like a lot of you guys are banking on Carson getting hurt. Carson is our starter no matter what... it's not like Kitna is threatening him for playing time. If you can trade Kitna for more value than what he's worth to this team, then go for it. I believe a top 10 DE or DT would merit Marvin and Mike to trade a BACKUP player for...

... believing Kitna is non tradeable is... well ... simply retarded.....

Marvin Lewis has this team in a position to be a very good team for the next 5 years.

Taking on the salary of Henderson or Ferguson would hurt that.

I agree... but isn't one of them franchise tagged anyways? It would just be a year fix, draft for the posistion and continue to mold our younger talent into stars...

i was comparing kitna to palmer, saying kitna is worthless once palmer is down, frankly the team is screwed once palmer is gone.. we have to go to all 15 yrd routes, he cant throw any further than that without a 10 yard running start..

At least with Kitna, we'd have a good chance of finishing 12-4.

bramlet doesnt play for the bengals...

krenzel sucks balls too, but i bet he can throw further than kitna, and is probably "smart" enough to not do left handed shovel passes or throw it up for grabs on a sack...etc... the running game, defense, and talented WR can win games for us, a terribly foolish QB is what will lose them.

and if kitnas 2 mil cap hit comes into play in giving chad more loot to stick around and not hold out, compares to a 150k or 500k salary, i think some people will change thier tune as well.. if shitna wants to stick around for league minimum, i could then care less, but no matter how much he is getting paid, if we lose palmer, our season is over.

i've got them, don't worry... jon kitna

2002 he had 3178 yards and threw for 62.2% completions
2003 he had 3591 yards and threw for 62.3%...

and he had a decent year coming off the bench and leading our team last year too... to say that kitna is a bad backup quarterback is crazy imo...

Not that this was ever going to happen, but the Jets just signed Vinny Testaverde and he will back up Brooks Bollinger. They are also looking at Brock Berlin, since both Fielder and Pennington are out for the year.

i guess if he sucked 5 years ago, that is much more accurate than his last 3 years... i care about what he has done for us lately, not what he did in seattle... jon puts up average numbers, which is more than you can ask for, for a back up...

If you beleive we are a year away from being a Super Bowl contender and removing Kitna from the roster would bring a Prime time player that will put us over the top for 3 SB's in 4 years---then "Hell Yeah" !!!!

If you beleive that we have a shot at the SB this year, then "Hell No" .

If Carson goes down, Kitna is our best chance to win

he has sucked his whole career, he has had 1 winning season out of nearly 10...

1 of 10 isnt good.. ben rothlesberger is throwing like 90% completion percentage, he must be the best QB in the WORLD! and disgustingly sick performances by the WR's for the bengals have nothing to do with kitnas stats those years, or rudi running over bastards the 2nd half of the year, all kitna, i guess kitna put the team on his back and carried them... move over joe montana, kitna was 8-8,

HOF! HOF! HOF! HOF!

i dont care where he is on the depth chart, he isnt a good QB anywhere, think how good of a 3rd stringer he would be? OMG! he would be the all pro of the NFLE league, champs guaranteed.

he is a career loser, he has never had a winning season here either, i dont care how nice he is, maybe he should go play golf, you know, a game where its GOOD to score negative points....
