  1. for sure, or WHO the team wants on the field perhaps. How + Who. Dex has a brief breakdown of how Allen would be a solid for with what he has run in the past fitting what we run and who we have.
  2. Herbert certainly has a stronger arm. that is the only skill he has better than burrow though. thats funny because Herbert was asked to be a game manager this year to cut down his turnovers. Harbaugh has him on the "safe passes, no risk, let the defense win the game"
  3. oh dont get me wrong, Brurton is a worthless dumbass fuckup. he will obviously get a shot to come back after an offseason. so not much to think about. but my son has an ex GF who claimed he was abusive, manipulative, insecure, and posted to the whole school and friends on social media about "finally out of this toxic abusive relationship" then proceeded to post to hood twitter in these posts where chicks post the phone number of an ex who screwed them over and they are then harrassed, for weeks by random people across the country. Had to change his phone number, i filed online police reports of every thing she had done with proof in case something ever came of it. Mind you this is a girl who had created fake snapchat accounts as a DUDE to have conversations with herself, take screenshots of the fake dude complimenting her or saying something innappropriate to post like he was being hit on. took fake pics from the internet of alcohol and send ti him claiming she was at a party getting drunk with dudes to try to make him jealous. after she posted that shit on social media he had girls at the school saying he was creepy and disgusting, had teachers fuck with him assuming he had done something. I hired a lawyer to clear that shit from the internet becasue he was getting recruited for sports in college. I had to threaten sueing her parents to get them to address it, they were tired of her shit. all this for some high school senior year relationship of some chick and my kid in southern colorado redneck highschool. so im not defending the team or Burton, but if allllll that shit went down and she didnt press any charges.... and the story is odd as fuck. im not with it.. ive seen it with my eyes. if someone is doing all that to you like its said, and you cal land are talking about him yelling in the car earlier and shit from a month ago, thats odd, thats thinking of shit to tell someone. if thats going down that call is like "hey i need police, my boyfield is crazy and choked me and broke into my house, i need a restraining order" how many of those calls have yall heard on tv and online? a billion? they dont go like this. then she presses no charges? lol, ok. Burton seems clearly like a dumbass and a dirtbag, but i dont think that series of events went down like that, if at all. Maybe im wrong.. but thats a really weird call, and for those things to be true to not press charges or do ANYTHING about it after the call. suspicious as fuck. I wont go down the pacman route again, i have a few times, but he had the lady at the reds game punching him and he got arrested casue she said he just attacked her ot of no where, he had the kid posting him yelling at him after hitting his Bentley, id be yelling too, no way that teenager in Batavia ohio has the coverage to cover the repairs to a fucking Bentley, so that was gonna gost him 50k or so after dudes insurance paid up, getting arrest at the westin for going to the wrong room, was he drunk and knocking on someone elses door? yes, would you or I have been ARRESTED when security came if we did that? no. remember the teenagers who said they were walking down the road and Odell Thurman and Chris Henry stopped and beat them up? they filed a whole police report, it was on the news, never happened. Remember when that shitty lineman got tased by the cincy police because they told him to move his car and he went to move it then they told him he was under arrest, he got 50 million settlement. (Mathias Askew was the palyer) Chinedume Ndukwe was part of an extortion case a woman tried to sue him for sexual assault which was false and they proved it and she was charged with extortion. remember when pacman was arresteda t the airport and all charges got dropped once again? Police repremeanded for handling of Joe Mixon case where lady said he showed a gun to her some random night. how many cases of people being either scammers or liars or racists does it take before the first thought isnt "well there is a good chance this isnt all true"
  4. Yea we would have been like 13-4 with a mid range scoring defense. concerned that Geisecki may be gone, like he may leave for like 500k more money type gone, he was interviewed after the season and was asked what all goes into deciding where to play next year, he gushed over Joe and th eoffense but said something along the lines of "i have some money to make up for so its hard to tell" referring to him saying he was a top end highest paid franchised TE type guy in Miami then the offense changed and sucked and patriots sucked and it SEEMS like he feels he is due top end money, and thinks he can get it.. in his 7 year career he has only made $25 million, 11 of it in one franchise tag season with Miami. I hope the market is dry for him, but it wouldnt take much for someone to offer up 7-8mil aseason for him and it sounds like he would gladly take it over preferring to be here. its underrated how well Mike slid into Tees role and routes with no notice a few times this season. losing him would be a hit to the team. unless tee is here and healthy all season. even a lesser offense but more consistent over the season would have gained many wins as well. I keep thinking of it like money ball, how do we buy wins, when i look at what next year would bring, if Tee and Chase are under contract we win vs the patriots by a landslide, thats 10-7, KC, how to quantify that one? better line we convert a late first down dont punt? better DB we dont get PI call? or chalk it up to KC did that 10 times this season so it is what it is? stil l10-7 them, commanders, need one stop, a corner? healthy DT's or healthy hubbard get to Daniles just ONCE on a 3rd down? 5 point game where that get a 40 yard TD pass on 4th down. imrpove any level of defense and thats likely a win, 11-6, both ravens losses? a FG made, a pick to Chase who got cut off, and youre 12-5, call the other a loss still but the same shit applies to it. one stop and dont lose by 1. youd be 13-4 this is all silly nonsense of course, but early even consistent defense and guys on the field you can look at it and think 3-4 win variance is there. but what NEW problems occur? joe get hurt? chase miss games? Trey get hurt? anything can happen, and shit usually does.. so i dont expect perfect healthy seasons or games.. but where can you spend and most easily buy the most likely chance at gaining wins?
  5. Oh and that above doesnt take into consideration, for the bengals specifically, where they were drafting, so if we split that data up removing players they had no chance at, id bet the odds are even worse, as top 5 OL picks tend to work out more than those after (obviously). they could ahve drafted a home run in Sewell, instead of Jamarr chase.. poll 100 bengals fans and front offices and how many do you think choose Sewell over Chase?
  6. so do yall just not believe data? in the first two rounds, OL taken, make it to a second contract anywhere and are starting around 30%-50% of the time. meaning just shy of 1 in 3 or 1 of 2 OL drafted in the first two rounds turn into veteran starters in the league. (Note: the two years span is at 50%, the 5 year span is at 31% going back from there) AND...AND... some of them that do survive that, would be considered bad. from the 2019 draft, 4 of 6 first round linemen are currently starters on an NFL team. Second round: 2 of 6, 3 of 6 possible accounting for maybe one guy injured. included in this list is Max Scharping and Cody ford, who both have passed around to various teams and arent starters. so going back 1 more year to get outside of the 5th year option and "one more chance since we invested" guys.. First: 4/6 Second 2/6 1 of 3 DE's in this draft are still starters, and its bradley chubb who is averaging being healthy for about half of his career, 72 games in 8 years he has started. ( a reference for Murphy) another doesnt start and another from KC is out of the league the same year. 10 of the second rounders in total from this draft are not active in the league, 9 more arent starters in the league but are active. and 5 more have missed more than half of the games in the last two years with injuries. thats 24/32 guys fans would all call bad picks or draft busts. 100% the bengals ahve been below average in Ol draft picks in the last 10 years. mims, carman, jonah and price are the last 4 in the last decade. 1/4 (probably) isnt great, there is also a range of Zeitler, Smith, Whitworth and Steinbach. which is 3/4 and if we just went off the data, Smith quanifies as a good pick, as he was a starter for 6-7 years for cincy and vikings, so even in the "success" stats above, are bad players who manage to get starting jobs for the timeframe to qualify.
  7. He was saying things?!?!? thats an odd thing to say.. he was yelling at her in the car, the car where, headed home? she says they parted ways but he beat her home and was waiting for her? this also is confusing. if they were together did she leave and take an uber? doesnt sound much like it, then he as blocking the door and choked her but then went inside so he was blocking it and choking her but decided to let her inside but then was still so mad he chased her inside? all that seems slightly odd. like he is a pro athlete so if he blocke tthe door she wasnt getting in and if he calmed down to let her go inside how did it turn into him chasing her. he got a knife from th dish washer? not a drawer? was the dishwasher open? did he do the dishes? im not assuming someone has a knife in the dishwasher, im going to a drawer. and whats being 19 have to do with deserving this treatment, like if she was 25 she would deserve it? wtf does that even mean. if he broke her phone what did she call from? we know she doesnt have a home phone as a 19 yr old, did she call from elsewhere? did her phone still work and screen was cracked? so he got a knife and held it up to his kneck? thats odd. feels like she got the knife, chased her upstairs and got it away from her and mocked her by holding it up to his kneck would be my guess.
  8. lol naming three dudes who were super good and super productive on this team and accounted for many wins is a bad stance.
  9. lol, well, i mean im guessing those rosters probably have better players. and Joe was middle of the pack until the tackles started falling off left and right (pun). in the last 5 weeks ish we had 8 players play three positions on that line (LT,RT,LG) (LT: Ford, Cochran, OBJ. LG: Ford, Volson/ RT: Mims, Cochran, Ford). a fucking shit show. Cappa being consistent AND sucking is a problem, is it a cappa problem or a whats around cappa problem, not sure..
  10. word on the streets is the front office wanted lou to lean on the young players to get them reps and ramped up, instead leaned on the vets he trusted and were smarter in the system, and he pushed back on it and it blew up in his face and cost him his job. whether they felt younger guys would ahve been better than the aged vets early and won a few extra games or if theyd ahve been ramped up faster and won a few extra games in the middle/late season range im not sure.. but they feel games were lost relying on old slower players he trusted in the system more than developing the young talent they had. the defense will be better next season regardless, we wont have that pile of injuries, everyone but Dax will be healthy and 100% ready, dax will take 8-12 weeks to get back in football shape and trust on the knee if past guys tells us anything with the same injury at that position. and i assume some new talent is going to be added.. so regardless should be a middle range scoring defense. I just figured theyd also been middle range with loud and the same personnel changes happening, but seems his stubbornness? cost him his job perhaps.
  11. this is one of the most thought fueled and accurate posts that i have seen on here in months. I agree Lous system depends on equal parts IQ and talent and seems the players healthy and available were slightly lacking in both. Once it was simplified and guys got consistency backups even became serviceable. Golden and Allen are my top two thoughts on likely candidates.
  12. I guess the next time the front office gets some credit for great draft picks will also be the first time. Maybe everyone else is smart enough to understand every single team drafts a crap shoot and is FULL of misses and hits. You can play revisionist history if you want, but Joe Burrow wasnt the consensus #1 pick, Tank for Tua and Herberts big arm were huge talks, and id bet if we went and found the thread here, there was a good chunk of people wanting Herbert or Tua, As joe hadnt been able to get on the field at OSU and had one single good season at LSU and one mediocre one. Not to mention the crowd who wanted Chase young instead of a QB. Same could be said for Jamarr draft, people wanted Pitts since we already had Tee and Boyd, and Sewell instead of Chase. I think even Waddle was in the mix. the same crowd that wants to act like there is no accountability (for a leaguewide experience) want to act like "well those were obvious picks" when no picks are obvious, because the draft is a shit show.
  13. everyone but his g/f ( i assume) wants to break up with york.
  14. Dennis Allen seems like the more likely candidate. after several HC failures he shouldnt be looking that direction anytime soon, was in Taylors wish list, #2 i think in the first DC hunt. The lists feel easy two widdle down. Taylor said they want someone with experience, this seems to wipe away any up and comer and any college prospect and any position coach looking for a promotion. The huge names, Taylor makes 4.5 mil, the big names in a big market, like if Saleh went to Dallas, would make 4-6mil as a DC. so he isnt likely to take a small market job and leave millions on the table and the team isnt going to pay a DC more than they pay a HC. They also wouldnt really want someone looking to jump to a HC job quickly, all that leaves me thinking Allen. Zimmer is too old and too old school, no one in this NFL era is trying to be screamed at. the gen of player that that worked on ended with Pacman and Burfict. with the except of a palyer here or there, like maybe a CTB would respond to it, i dunno, but not many guys in the nfl are interested in that shit. Not from a DC, position coaches are in their asses already. So I gott think Allen is top of the list. I ALSO think since they brought in two guys immediately, from potentially unimpressive situations at their last gig, that they are rushing through interviews and have the deal worked out with who they want..which ALSO makes me think Allen, as he has been sitting at home for months after being fired mid season.
  15. its not the age of a QB as much as the mileage the body has ensured before it breaks down. Where skill players the age signifies the peak of athleticism more, like a RB/WR is going downhill in peak performance typically at age 26-27 that peak is 23-26, even if gradual its no longer uphill for most. while the same is for QB they dont rely as much on the athleticism as the skill players do, i mean joe was semi effective last year without being able to drop back or plant a foot.
  16. welp, i will always be the first to admit when i am wrong. holy shit. if they fuckup this hire the burrow years will be a waste. had a guy you know can get you to the superbowl on defense, the defense GOT US THERE, so lets get some great coaches on staff and go get some hardware.. if they did these firings and go just on a job search with no plan, that is terrifying, hopefully they have someone theyve been in talks with behind the scenes.
  17. this is nonsense. zach is an offensive coach, the offense is phenomenal.
  18. could be the nxt taysom hill, doesnt look like a real QB prospect at the nfl level for sure.. seems like a good athlete.
  19. this is funny. what do you get if they win a championship? how many days until you complain again about the team? 3? 22? i left that awful city like Mike should have to Baltimore. but ive had about 100-150 days of road trips to games with my kid and a fun ass playoff run with my friends, a superbowl trip with family and friends, its been awesome, i dont get a ring or a bonus if they win a superbowl, it would be awesome, but the ride is the reward. Sports make life fun and enjoyable. if youre using them for something else, then thats on you.
  20. am i crazy or do a bunch of these words not go together?
  21. there was 5-6 mil left on the cap why do people keep acting like they arent willing to spend. the available cap started at 10mil, injuries and signings to replace them spend half of that gap. they leave about 8 on average for that, and went over it twice if i recall due to injuries during marvins time. "they dont want to go overbaord" THEY SPEND THE CAP!
  22. you can say ass. and shit. well they ahve talented WR's, at least quick ones, not like top talent guys, pickens requires attention, and it seems clear they palyed to keep everything in front of them. so with who we have to cover... CTB, Newton, Hilton, Ivey (in max coverage formations), Safeties over top, youre left with ADG or Pratt to cover a TE. and youll never guess, they move Friermuth to get him the favorable matchup against a LB as well. its like the offense, can SEE our defense, and give themselves the best matchup possible. they had a total of 148 passing yards, and wilson a QBR of 31.5, yea the TE, with the most favorable matchup and one blown coverage, got 85 whole yards and 1 td... and youre crying about it? the next best WR had 1 catch for 25 yards. then 4 screens to harris for 20 yards. the defense played GREAT, especially with who they had on the field. 148 total passing yards. that would be a 2500 yards passing season over 17 games. and you wanna be mad about it. unreal. id be pretty mad if i were them and my expensive defense making up of 8 of thier top 10 highest paid players.. gave up 277 yards and 80% completion percentage.
  23. its so annoying, i dont get it.. whats in it for the fan who thinks and says it? whats the big win? constnat changing of staff has never been a successful effort. an odd move for sure. they arent going to be good next year either, so why not let the same guy take that L as well. i think ive been pretty clear in my stance and opinion. you dont need to fire anyone. OBJ Karras and Cappa is a flat out lie, OBJ played well and the same as before, just injured, Karras has been very good. Cappa has declined, but that happens, there can be many reasons. with the talk of offensive line being a cohesive unit, only as good as the weakest link, have to gel together, play together, get real snaps together, etc.. how many RT have there been next to cappa in 3 years? 5? 6? 3 this year alone, no 4.. Brown, Ford, Mims, Cochran. should somehow have no effect on him. he played GREAT the first 4 games of the season. when did the first change happen, week 4? then a rotation of guys since then? probably a coincidence. Volson fucking sucks. there are 36 Guards who pass block grade over a 65 or more... there are 64 starting guards.. so thats a lot of poor guard play in the league. this is also counting backups who managed 150 snaps total, which is 8-9 per game. which is nothing. so you want to fire the GM or the Oline coach because the nfl has a Oline problem because colleges all run spread or option offenses with mobile QBs and produce trash linemen for the last decade? makes sense.. we can just fire them both every single year becasue thats not going to change. PS: lets not even bother with the topic of location, while linemen arent as bad as some positions, but if youre trying to lure a free agent, and the Bengals are competing with any team in Colifornia, Texas, Florida, Chicago, New york, DC, Philly, atlanta, carolina, denver, youre putting Ohio.... gloomy ass trash ass ohio, up against beach states, tax favoring states, entertainment capitals, big city lifestyles, you know, stuff millionaires and their wifes and kids care about, against... hamilton county... im not a millionaire and i didnt even want to fucking live there. obviously some players this isnt a factor, which is cool, but some it 100% is, theyve all said so, coaches, players, everyone. lololol well what he has changed every week. hubbard came in hurt and thus slow. we had to call a guy off his couch to even have enough DT's to play, both rookies out first what 4 weeks? then rankiins out after week 2 for a few, then rookies back and getting reps after missing preseason and first 4 games, then rankins back for a couple then rankins out forever, then logan went down, then Dax went down then Turner went down, we are palying uor 5th and 6th Corners as starters and heavy rotation guys. the roster was built with developing young players and expected to be middle of the pack scoring defense. young picks with solid veterans sprinkled in. and he DID adjust the terminology when it was clear the calls were too complicated for the young and new players on defense, and the injuries stopped, and they played fairly well down the stretch, a few scrub teams but 2 playoffs teams. youre going to fire a guy (either one) for depended upon defenders missing 70 games? again, like my other thread, thats what 4 palyers per gameaverage, and the missing players changed weekly, and eventually half of them just out for the year. Starting DE Hubbard- hurt in preseason, hurt all year out for year Starting Dt, hurt after 2 games played a few then out for season with lung infection #1 pick CB moved position played well, then out for season #2 pick CB moved in to start, broken collarbone, out for season Great LB best coverage linebacker had in years, out for season. definetly reason for firing a DC or GM... a whole new scheme for everyone to learn should really turn things around quickly!!!!111
  24. i dont think you should ever watch football ever again.
  25. lmfao. york is 11/15 in his career from 30-39 yards. mcpherson is 8/8 this year and 22/22 for his career. mcpherson is 13/15 under 50 yards this season.. fans acting like he sucks because he missed some 50+ yarders this season is ridiculous. york is CLEARLY WAY WAY worse than Mcpherson. WAY WORSE. he has missed nearly a third of his FG under 40 yards.. hes good enough but the guy who is 87% under 40 yards should be cut?!?!??! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
