  1. Kind of but it often looks to me that the other teams in the division are building specifically to beat us rather than the rest of the NFL.
  2. Don't shoot the messenger... I did say "f-bomb 'em".
  3. USA Today free agency grade so far... (fuck 'em) Cincinnati Bengals: C- Feels like a series of mostly lateral moves, OT Trent Brown replacing Jonah Williams, RB Zack Moss (2 years, $8 million) replacing Joe Mixon, DT Sheldon Rankins (2 years, $24.5 million) replacing D.J. Reader. The new safety couplet of Stone and Vonn Bell is nice. But the unresolved situation around franchised WR Tee Higgins? Not so much.
  4. D'oh... Maybe I should read more closely and not try to rush it in from work. : )
  5. Arik Armstead? https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2024/03/20/bengals-want-dj-reader-sheldon-rankins-interest-arik-armstead-free-agency/ One of the other reported players that presumably didn’t fit for one reason or another was Teair Tart. With Armstead, Jacksonville giving him $51 million over three years probably pushed the Bengals out of their comfort zone.
  6. Did they offer Becton a contract? At work and did not see it if they did. BUT... all's well that ends well and glad Brown is here.
  7. I like the decision not to pursue Tart because something seemed off.
  8. Six sacks last year. Three on a Bengals guard not named Volson.
  9. Wasn't that Antonio Brown's forte? A time honored Steeler tradition.
  10. I'm tending to lean toward Patter's thinking that Becton is kind of a risk. I am tired of the Bengals taking underachievers with potential and ending up with an under achiever. Somewhere is the number of penalties and sacks he gave up... No thanks. He reminds me of a higher profile Jackson Carman. Should be somewhere there in the draft. Fart.. would like to have him here but if he is a player and trying to jack up his price here or elsewhere... yeah, I'd still take him and you can't blame him but...
  11. With Mixon you also have to factor in all the wear and tear or running into a lineman and falling on his ass two lines short of the line of scrimmage on 3rd and 2.
  12. An idea I'm goofing on is keep him until the trade deadline and trade him then to someone desperate a top one wide out to make a playoff run and will overpay to get him. We get a big chunk of the season out of him and a hopefully first rounder in next year's draft to replace him to boot.
  13. If he doesn't start waiving a gun around and some Texan shoot his ass off.
  14. fwiw... son just texted that Zac and family at the Precinct now.
  15. Just posted elsewhere that I think there was more to this than meets the eye. They certainly hustled him out of The Rye Bread town quick and were willing to do so for nothing until Houston took the bait. Perhaps just the threat that the next time he started waiving a gun around he would put a round between someone's running lights. Better he do it in Houston than Anderson Township.
  16. Late to the party, here, but the whole cut/trade get Mixon out of town deal. Yes, I did not like him. Yes, others I respect did... Jamie, Pattern etc and I am very OK and respect their opinions. But I'm thinking there was something else at play behind the curtain with The Great Wizard Pumpkin we were not seeing. Maybe/probably nothing overt but The Bengals Powers That Be secretly saw or feared something about this guy... a loose cannon with a Glock or Tec.
  17. yes, yes, yes, yes, yes... working and could not post. Now if they sign Becton (sp) I would say they are maneuvering into trying to draft Bowers. Waiting for an offer for Tee and move up for our generational tight end.
  18. I'm there Saturday around 4:30. Son at Precinct early Friday evening.
  19. Maybe we will run into them Saturday evening. Reservations there to celebrate lady friend's son's birthday. We'll take a selfie with them.
