June 9, 200619 yr comment_279987 Germany has a nice attack but when they go up against a better attacking team...they might be screwed. Costa Rica should have had about 4 goals as well. Germany wouldn't be able to hold up against a brazil club. Ronaldo and Ronaldinho would tear them up with a couple of good through balls.
June 9, 200619 yr Author comment_279996 Can't help but think that Costa Rica made a big tactical area playing only 3 defenders at the back. Notice how 3 of the 4 German goals came from the wing? I'm pretty sure they go to a conventional 4 at the back for the rest of the tourney. Entertaining game, Germany looked good going forward, but their midfield was pretty woeful at closing down space and people. Klose's performance today removes all the pressure from Klinsmann due to the uproar when he left Kuranyi out of the squad.
June 9, 200619 yr comment_280055 Ecuador taking Poland...im assuming 2-0 Shocks me...this team could be a cinderella.
June 9, 200619 yr comment_280083 Is there a television schedule for this stuff somewhere? I would like to watch the USA play. From what I have found, they don't play until the 12th?

So it will most likely be on ESPN 2 on the 12th..i don't remeber what time they play though.

June 10, 200619 yr comment_280285 I wish soccer was big here like in other countries. It would be nice to go into a bar and have everyone rooting for a common national pride type of thing. Even if I did not like sports, an experience like that would be nice.

Tunisia * Footnotes: [i]To the poorer African nations it would be a huge deal and a great moment of pride for people who have let's face it, mostly got fucked in the game of life, for Iran it would be great to see Adman on the stage recieving the trophy on stage and then grab the mic and yell "we're going streaking to Auschwitz" , and then Tunisia because what the hell .... why not ? June 10, 200619 yr comment_280457 I am now officially a fan of trinidad and tobago. They are playing 10 on 11 and they were supposed to get blown out...they are playing with a lot of heart right now...and there defense is just simply stopping all the crosses and cutting most of them off...its awesome to watch this team which the fans are just happy for the team to make it...and i hope they pull this one out. but anyways The U.S. will fuck the Czech Republic up!
June 10, 200619 yr comment_280459 This sure as hell doesn't look like a back up goalie...he has stepped it up. And he is pretty fucking awesome.

June 11, 200619 yr Author comment_280903
their goalie is a bad mutha fucka...
That's my boy Shaka Hislop....keeper for my favourite team...West Ham United. England looked bad yesterday. Sven's getting slammed for his defensive tactics, but I imagine, he'll be happy with the win. Trinidad and Tobago! Drawing with Sweden! Big missed opportunity for the Swedes. As noted, my boy Hislop was dope. Argentina / Ivory Coast was a good game. The Argies looked strong...even without Messi and Tevez playing. Ivory Coast could have scored more besides the late Drogba score. This morning's game was alright...Holland looked as strong as advertised, although Van Nistelrooy looked off a bit. Van Persie and Arjen Robben had great games though. Mexico / Iran was a good game as well. Waiting to see Portugal / Angola. On paper this Portugese team is very good, the losing European Cup finalists, and in their coach "Big" Phil Scolari, they have a master tactician and the coach who led Brazil to the championship in 2002. Guys to watch will be the dazzling skills of Christiano Ronaldo, their striker Pauletta should be effective, and of course you have Luis Figo...the great midfielder nearing the end of his career. One last thing, FIFA said before the tourney they wanted to make the games more free flowing, and to that end, I think it's been a big success. The referees have been playing advantages regularly, and games haven't been that choppy stop / start affair that characterizes a lot of international tourney play. Another reason you gotta love the World Cup...Angola...just emerged out of 30 years of civil war, but there are still pockets of fighting in the country...but a ceasefire has been declared for the whole duration of Angola's group games so that everyone in the country can watch. Gotta love it. Also, the Iranian move before the game to present flowers to the Mexican goalie Sanchez (whose father had died two nights ago) was a class move.

Weird you said Figo and Pauletta... they just hooked up on a goal 1-0 Porutgal 4th minute.. This should be a blowout.
