I bought the Slingbox Pro yesterday. I have it working on my desktop PC. But what I dont understand
is, how can I or how do I, or anyone else for that matter, watch my tv away from my home.

Is their something they most download or is their a website they must go to connect to my stream?

I dont get it?

I need help.

also what internet do you have? if its basic or standard road runner, its likely not got much of an upload speed to start so it may be shoppy or grainy, even my turbo road runner sucks with its 512k upload, zoomtown had much better upload speeds, but poor download speeds... *sigh*

click city closest to you and tell us what you get, it will do download first then upload.. dont be downloading anything while its running.. takes like 60 seconds.

Im not at home now but I think my downloads average 600-680, 70-78kbps and by upload is at 12kbps......or something
like that....I cant remember.

It seems like the issue Im having now is the firewall, how do I adjust that?
You have Verizon Wireless, as in the aircard? Did you not get a revA capable aircard? Or are you just out of revA area right now? Upload on VZW aircards, revA capable, should be 600 to 800 up.
I have a Verizon wireless USB modem. I mainly use a desktop in the basement of my house, its pretty
fast considering I constantly only get 3 bars out of 5 for signal strentgh........
Yes, it is fast. Upload speeds are actually faster than my dsl and the cable I formerly had here, as long as it's revA. Do you know what model of USB modem you have? The usb720 maybe?
Yep, thats what I have......fucker is expensive too.....$80 per month -_-

verizon is typically $80, bigger markets they price match sprint for $59 tho. but not in loly cincinnati, and they ahve a 5gb cap, yes even on the "unlimited" they can shut off your card, they also have rules against using a slingbox and streaming any media...

its in the fine print on the broschure and likely website.

i found it funny...

if upload is only 100-150k thats rough. should maybe work ok.. but youll have to test it..

as for the firewall, you need to login to your router, if your using one, and add service to the TCP/ICP (or whatever its called) and add slingbox to whatever port they say in the setup instructions.. should fix the firewall error it gives...

unless verizon has blocked the slingbox service as a whole on their network..somehow.
