“He did not do anything wrong. For him to go through this is a shame. He’s doing the right thing by not taking the law in his own hands,” Schaffer said. “Adam has done a great job of changing his image and turning his whole life around. We will explore every possible legal action to make sure the right thing occurs.”

Schaffer did not rule out looking at legal action against police.

Well, we knew we'd have a rebuttal from Jones' camp and here it is........

What do you guys think?

I think that if Jones is lying about the punch, being intoxicated, or ... then he deserves whatever he gets. However, if the police failed to question the female who allegedly threw a punch and/or found that they arrested him for BS then they deserve to be held accountable to the same degree also.

I think a guy who was at the end of his rope probably should not be drinking in a bar at 2:35am. The guy is simply too stupid to have on the team.

Jones may face jail due to probation violation

Bengals CB Adam "Pacman" Jones could potentially face jail time as a result of his resisting arrest and disorderly conduct charge in Ohio on Sunday morning.

Jones is on probation in Las Vegas for previous charges, and the district attorney there said he would review police reports to determine whether or not to ask a judge to incarcerate the player for violating a stay-out-of-trouble order. According to The Associated Press, it could take a few weeks to determine if jail time will be necessary for Jones.

Jones' lawyer, Robert Langford, told the AP he thinks the charges at the Cincinnati bar will be dropped.

Take this as a grain of salt because its kind of like the telephone game, but..

My buddy told me his friend was at Scene that night and said he saw Pacman throwing chairs around all pissed off. Then he didnt see much more as a crowd formed and blocked his view. Didnt know if he was drinking or not, but was Pac was really pissed off nonetheless.

...according to my friends friend.

Like I said, hearsay, but figured I'd chime in.

If true, you cant act like that and expect not to be at least kicked out of a bar... and then once kicked out, if you are shouting profanities, after being kicked out of a bar, its feasible for a cop to think you are publicly intoxicated and maybe even a drunken menace, and try to put you in cuffs, at least for the time being. Then, if you resist that, you are fucked, and arrested on the spot. Whether he did something wrong or nothing wrong, you DONT resist a police office. Fight in court, not on the sidewalk.

Just in case Pacman Jones needed longer odds to stay in the NFL

One thing that's easy to forget when considering Adam "Pacman" Jones' recent troubles: The guy was no lock to make the Bengals roster anyway.

Jones is a nickel back coming off neck surgery. Check that: two neck surgeries. Evan Silva noticed this section from a Bengals.com article:

"Adam Jones indicated in a Channel 9 interview Sunday following his disputed arrest in a Cincinnati bar that he "just had" surgery on the neck he injured last season," Geoff Hobson writes.

Jones also had neck surgery last October. So unless he was referring to that one (while wearing a neck brace), it appears Jones has undergone two surgeries of late.

We've counted Pacman out too early before, but this combination of events could wind up marking his eighth and ninth life as an NFL player.

After the television interview on Sunday where Adam Jones said he had surgery on his neck four weeks ago, we have done some digging around to find out if it was a surgery and if it is a setback in his rehab from last year's injury.

Here is what we have been able to find out after talking to various sources:

Jones did have a procedure on his neck recently but it was to make sure that the bone graft from last year's surgery was still healing properly and that Jones does continue to wear the neck brace under doctor's orders. The procedure found that the neck is continuing to heal properly and that he should be ready for the season barring any setbacks. When it comes to training camp and the preseason, if there is one, it is expected that the Bengals would keep him limited at least early on.

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Bengals' cornerback Adam Jones could appear before a Hamilton County judge Monday afternoon to be arraigned on charges stemming from an incident at a downtown Cincinnati bar.

Jones is charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and resisting arrest for an incident that occurred at the Scene Ultralounge bar on Walnut Street on July 10.

When he was released from jail a few hours after the incident, Jones told 9 News he thought the charges were ridiculous. His lawyer says Jones did nothing wrong.

Jones' agent, Peter Schaffer, tells reporters that Jones was at the bar celebrating his wife's birthday with neighbors when another woman threw a punch at Jones' wife. Schaffer adds that Jones walked up to officers at the bar and said he wanted to file charges against the woman.

Other witnesses say, according to Schaffer, that Jones became upset as the other woman walked away and police became more concerned about the situation.

On his Twitter account, Jones said he wasn't drunk at the time.

We'll have Jones' arraignment at 12:30 p.m. Monday covered for you, with updates here at WCPO.com and on 9 News.
