Homer_Rice
Jamie. Don't let the criticism of other folks prevent you from acting in the way you think best. Simply continue to hew and refine your judgment in ways that improve your path towards wisdom. Over time, this approach is best. Now, some of the criticism you will receive is going to be good criticism--stuff you can learn from--and some of it will merely be passive-aggressive bullshit coming from people who do not want to (or perhaps even can not) muster up a suitable counter-argument to arguments you put forward on various issues. In moments like these, it is useful to be able to sort the wheat from the chaff because the only way to develop a truly powerful mind is to have the willingness to be possibly wrong on occasion. Learn from the good critics and ignore those who would prefer to shoot the messenger. The former mean you no harm but the latter couldn't give a shit if you live or die. tl;dr: If only some of this critical passion could have been devoted to stopping: --recent wars; --torture; --the economic meltdown which was mostly caused by greed.
