RIP James Earl Jones

Very sad. Loved him particularly in "Field of Dreams" and "Hunt for Red October."

But the first I saw of him was in a made-for-TV movie back in the mid-70s called "The Cay." He (sporting white hair & beard and a Jamaican accent) and a young white boy end up stranded on an isolated island along with a cat after their boat is torpedoed by a German sub. Definitely low-budget, but I always liked him as an actor from then on. FWIW, "The Cay" is actually on YouTube. (50 min. runtime)

Interesting fact: his father played Luther, Johnny Hooker's (Robert Redford) partner, in "The Sting."

Shoot!  I didn't know that he had passed.  :(

My Bacon Number is Three (via Television) because of him.  The Oracle does not have me in its' database, but I was on a TV show (CBS Sunday Morning) with him... his TV Bacon number is 2, so mine is 3.

I already had a 4 (via Film). I was in a documentary with Little Feat's Richie Hayward, who has a Bacon number of 3. But since I've already got a 3 via Jones, I'll just go with that.

Anyway, belated RIP JEJ.
