I've been watching a lot of movies lately... I saw Troy, it was really good.

My movies that I would suggest to other people that like movies...

Horror: Ghost Ship -- a little old, but still a good movie!!

Comedy: Napoleon Dynamite -- saw it last night... no point at all. it was so stupid it was funny... Meet the Fockers -- good, funny movie... better than the first one.

Action: Troy -- great movie, i already knew the story so that sucked, but i liked it anyway.

Any other kind of movie: The Village, Alien vs. Predator

Other movies I have seen recently... Terminator 3 -- it was okay. I liked it, but won't watch it again for a while. had a good story line anyway.

Anyone else seen anything that I should see? For some reason I have been watching a lot of movies and want to know everyone's favorites!!

What happens in Vanilla Sky?

I'm drawing a blank on other good movies I've seen...

Minority Report is a good one... any new releases anyone else seen that I should take a look at?

Lord of the Rings is good, Jason. I admit, I like Harry Potter, lol.

I like most if not all the movies mentioned here, but i tend to gravitate towards calling movies "best" when they speak about the human condition.
Like "The Fisher King", for example...a great movie about human greed and self-absorption, or even "Forrest Gump", another great movie about the human condition, that is to say, fallacy.
For sheer freakiness I liked Oprah's "Beloved" and "The Ring".
Blockbusters in the realm of "Troy" and "Lord Of..." movies are always on my must see list.
I liked "I, Robot"-watched it last night.
"Eyes Wide Shut" was a very cool, strange movie.
Shit, I thought "On Golden Pond" and "Terms Of Endearment" were great movies about life.
"Shawshank" and "Green Mile" are two of the best Stephen King movies.
"Fight Club" was a cool, bizarre concept, as was the "Matrix" trilogy (despite Keanu Reeves)
I also REALLY like "Devil's Advocate", again, in spite of Keanu Reves. Pacino's role as Satan is powerful and convincing, and so is the premise of the movie.
"It's A Wonderful Life" ranks WAY up there in terms of all-around American classic, human-behavior-oriented movie though. There's no denying Jimmy Stewart.
Fuck, I could go on and on, but I won't.
Oh yeah, how about "Scent Of a Woman"?
OK, I'll stop now.

I'm sorry. I saw the movie (and enjoyed it at the time) but have you seen it again recently? It is SOOO cheesy. I would love a modern remake with real special effects though.

I liked it, but I wouldn't put it anywhere near the Best Movie of All Time list.

Princess Bride is probably my favorite movie, but I wouldn't put it on best of all time either.

Man - some of you younger guys gotta go rent some movies made before 1999. You're really missing out.

Star Wars: Defined a generation. Gotta be on the list.

Raiders of the Lost Ark: Best adventure flick EVER. So good it didn't need an attractive female lead to draw attention

A Nightmare on Elm Street: Best 80's teen horror flick, also Johnny Depp's best role EVER

Casablanca: Chicks are always impressed when I say I like this movie. I actually do.

Dr. No: Bond. James Bond. Need I say more?

The Blues Brothers: Best music movie EVER. (Honorable mention: The Commitments)

The Jerk: Better than any Adam Sandler movie ever made (and I loved Happy Gilmore!)

Tron: First movie to use computer graphics. Hokey but fun.

The Sixth Sense: Anyone who says they figured it out before the end is lying.

The Magnificent Seven: Best western EVER.

Fight Club: Was once described to me by a woman as "very male." Definitely wins the Testosterone Award.

Time Bandits: Best midget movie EVER. (Special award to Terry Gilliam for making the weirdest non-drug-induced movies EVER: Brazil, The Fisher King, 12 Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas... ok, that one was drug-induced)

Force 10 From Navarone: Harrison Ford's best forgotten movie.

Airplane!: Best "Do you like gladiator movies?" movie EVER.

Alien: Best clausterphobia movie EVER.

Apocalypse Now: Only Stanley Kubrick movie I could ever figure out.

And finally...

Flesh Gordon: Funniest 70's soft porn EVER. If you haven't seen this movie I strongly suggest you see it as soon as possible. Guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes funny! (even better if you watch it stoned!)

The Ring, Castaway, Forest Gump, Saving private ryan, gladiator, office space, dumb and dumber, green mile, the terminal, road to perdition, etc. are all very good.

Notice Tom Hanks is in 6 of those movies.

He's the best actor these days IMO.

Oh yeah, the Star Wars series is right up there as well.

I know you're kidding about Johnny Depp.
I can't believe I didn't include Star Wars.
Force 10 is an awesome movie...So is "Guns Of Navarone", best Robert Shaw movie!
Those Connery Bond flicks are also great for mindless popcorn munching....but he's still the best Bond, Roger Moore is 2nd...
There are way too many people on this earth who's heads are filled with fodder from far too much TV/movie viewing...myself included!

Were you by chance eating a "Meat Lover's" pizza with a male companion while you watched "The Birdcage"?
