Hitter and pitchers like who ?
The core of those teams is still intact. Excuse after excuse fore the neophyte head coach Price. Imagine what fans would have said if Dusty droppedbthe f-bomb multiple times or got ejected BEFORE a game ? Excuses excuses. This team is not performing for this cpach.

The same core has all gotten a lot worse except Cueto and Votto, but even Votto isn't as good as his MVP year that led to his massive contract. The team is bad. They over performed in the past. Not even Joe Torre or Sparky Anderson could win with this pathetic bunch of 25 men.

Trade anyone over 30 & restock the farm system.

Dusty had a much better bullpen minus Chapman, an inning eater in Bronson, Bruce looked like he might be capable of hitting.

Blahblahblah, I simply can't argue the fact that Price is completely inept, and getting tossed before a game even starts is just icing on the cake. I guess we'll see if they'll play for someone else soon enough, no? And the hitting coach needs to take a hike as well.

Wonder what Jack McCeon is doing these days...

I thought you were going to name the hitters and pitchers who gave Dusty the advantage and multiple playoff appearances ? Expected a little more than Bronson.

There must be a reason those players as you say "over performed". That reason was the "experienced" Dusty Baker motivating and getting the most out of his players.
Taking a group of young playoff experienced players and handing them over to a first year head coach has been a disaster.

I left part out of my post. They also don't have a bunch of those guys that made them good either because Walt is incompetent and couldn't replace them. They have no bullpen, no Harang, No Bronson, Phillips is way past his prime, Votto got paid like his MVP year was his norm when it was his career year. Bruce got exposed to MLB as an incompetent fuck that will swing at anything and would be better off in softball. It is sad that Bruce makes Adam Dunn look like a God with a bat.

Secondly, Dusty Baker is/was terrible and didn't motivate anyone. He was a players coach who let them get away with everything which is why they crapped out late in the year and in the playoffs. Dusty teams had no discipline and got exposed against good teams. They just beat all the shitty ones and with Cubs/Brewers/Pirates/Astros they got to steal a lot of wins.

Bryan Price is ruining a young playoff experienced team? The Reds are the 3rd oldest team in MLB. They aren't young, they aren't small salaried and they aren't talented. If you look at that 25 man roster and don't think they are playing exactly how they should be then you are insane. The only hope that team had entering the season was hoping everyone stayed healthy, everyone had nomral to above average seasons and they found a stud or two in the minors or made a huge trade in July (with the 0 trade-able assets they have in the minor leagues). This team is screwed for the next 8-10 years.

Insane ?
Wow, you said alot but didn't really say anything. What are the players you mentioned no longer with the Reds doing now ? Nothing besides hanging on in the league. Reds managed to win with K. specialist like drew stubbs.
So Dusty beat the teams they were supposed to beat. I prefer that than now being the team every one expects to beat.
I doesn't take 8-10 to improve a franchise. The Cubs GM has managed to improve in far less than 8-10 years. Last I checked Houston was leading their division. They were garbage recently. Guess they're not on your 8-10 year plan ?
8-10 years ? Man your spirit has been broken.

The Reds ARE beating the teams they should beat. They have one of the worst 25 man rosters in MLB. They are playing to the level of talent they possess.

The Cubs and Astros already had decent farm systems and the Cubs have plenty of money to spend. The Reds payroll is screwed for the next 8 years.
