Random thoughts after the game.

 

Burton - why is he so deep on the depth chart? no high pick rookie starts in the basement, especially with 2 guys out on the depth chart and another playing 1 drive. is he not understanding his roles? doesnt get the offense? this is more crious considering the two plays he made, were cake deep routs. he vanished while anything else was going on. He clearly is very skilled. but something there seem fishy. anyone have any thoughts or insight? absolutely no reason for him to be at the bottom of the depth chart, taylor isnt a tough love start at the bottom coach, seems odd.

 

Punter - i think any of them will be fine, fans judging punters is borderline pointless, we dont know the play, the hang time the angle desired, etc.. all we can see is long or short and the end result. so i dont have much opinion here. not do i actually care who the punter is, lol.

 

Starters - got bailed out on the drive on some calls, good calls, but dumb plays by the defense. Like the result, could have been better.

 

Defense - too much of a mash up of players, so who knows. liked seeing some plays get made by Newton and Dax.

 

Lassiter - cought a handfull of passes, he doesnt seem dynamic in any way, he cant really be part of the offense, getting no seporation and tackled immediately against scrubs isnt great, unless he has a special teams purpose, seems like his ride may be over. seems like an awesome dude, hate to see it.

 

new kick off rules are fine, nothing too exciting and seems a ton safer, will flip a few games results this year for sure, but in a few years itll be just as bland as the old one.

Wonder how long Lee's arms are?

 

I think Lee replaces Hill but is not the long term

solution.  A place holder, if you will.

Nothing against him,  I think he will stick for awhile but not long term.
