What I'm hearing from my Bengals "peeps"
News from the week at the Senior Bowl:

Safeties the Bengals are high on
*Greg Blue Georgia....great attitude, fast learner, history with Georgia guys
*Daniel Bullocks Nebraska...........versatile, big hitter, Neb defensive system hurt him
*Ko Simpson South Carolina....great cover, needs to improve vs run

They want to add speed at LB and grab a Pollack pro-type......DE and WLB....some they like:
*Kamerion Wimbley Florida State...tenacity to be special
*Manny Lawson North Carolina (sic)....Pollack clone

Two TE's they spoke about:
*Vernon Davis Maryland....automatic starter for Bengals
*Leonard Pope Georgia...needs to develop receiving skills

DT they appear high on:
*Babatude Oshinowo Stanford....big boy, big potential
*Brodrick Bunkley Florida State.....surprised them by showing up at 298 lbs....wasn't slowed by it.

It sounds like they might have a 3rd round pick to play with, because they expect somebody to sign Kelley Washington.

Here is a "perfect world" blueprint I was given
Rd 1. Blue, S.............if TE Davis is here, they would take him....or could take one of the two DT mentioned
Rd 2. Lawson, DE/LB
Rd 3: Joel Klopfenstein, TE
Rd 3: Daniel Bullock, loading up on safeties
Rd Rodrique Wright.........if he falls this far, DT......keep an eye on Barry Cofield, NW DT
Round #5 thru #7 will be CB, WR, and a LT.

I have simply fallen in LOVE with Manny Lawson. I want him. Move him to LB, or keep him at DE. I don't care. He's a monster, and will be productive from either spot.

Blue in the first round ehh, he just might be there..

A tandem of Blue and Williams is quite intriguing, Blue dishing out pain and Madieu playing centerfield..

Wimbley or Lawson would be good DE/OLB candidate, there are alot guys in this draft that potential fit that mold.

I like Bullocks, but there is good depth at safety in this draft. All in all I know the Bengals will have a great draft, they haven't disappointed since we heard " With the third overall pick in the 1999 draft the Cincinnati Bengals select...." I am a Darnell Bing fan 6'4"/ 220 lbs at Strong safety.. But the Stanford center would be a nice late second round pick.

And from the architects who brought you the house of Thomas Davis... we bring you...

THE HOUSE OF MANNY LAWSON!!11!

As you can see, it comes properly equipped with his initials in the middle of the house. It also comes with a brand new hovercraft, and a giraffe.

There shall be more to come, people...

I thought the same thing but then again I thought what are the chances of teams before us picking up Safeties? There has to be a chance that one of those guys falls. Probably Bing or Simpson cuz Huff is top 10 for sure.
I can't imagine Blue being taken in the first round, unless he runs like a 4.2 40, benches 225lbs 50 times, and scores a 40 on the wonderlic.

Give me Simpson or Bing if we take a safety in round 1.
If they take Blue in the first round, I will kill myself via drowning in an emo kid's tears.

I want Bing in the First but after what Fuckhead Henry has done, this throws a wrench into everything.

Blue is not a 1st, so you have to take Pope, Blue and a few others should still be there in the 2nd, but I would rather have a DT with this pick. Jon Alston/Stanford was one of the tweeners they talked about, he could be picked up in the 4th and converted to Safety.

1. Pope/Georgia
2. Babatude Oshinowo / Stanford
3. Bullock / Nebraska

I would love to find another pick, say at the top of the third and hope C. Griffin/A. Zemaitas were available.
