Hmmm...that's odd...

The account of the motorcycle accident at Wikipedia seems to be missing the term Divine Karma...along with a few other details that I've seen in this thread...

I wonder if that will be rectified?

EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT OF THE ACCIDENT
From the Vancouver Sun
pissburgh -- stealers star Ben Roethlisberger, the youngest quarterback to lead a team to the Super Bowl championship, had surgery Monday and is in serious condition in hospital following a crash in which he was thrown from his motorcycle.

Roethlisberger -- expected to earn up to $20 million US over the next three years in endorsements alone -- broke his jaw and nose in the crash.

He was not wearing a helmet.

The player's agent, Leigh Steinberg, described the injuries to The Associated Press and said he did not know if there was further damage. WTAE-TV, citing a person in the police department it didn't identify, reported that Roethlisberger also had a broken left sinus, a nine-inch cut on the back of his head, lost teeth and severe injuries to his knees from hitting the pavement.

"He was talking to me before he left for the operating room," Dr. Larry Jones, chief of trauma at Mercy Hospital, said before surgery. "He's coherent. He's making sense. He knows what happened. He knows where he is. From that standpoint, he's very stable."

Roethlisberger's mother, Brenda, was crying as she arrived at the hospital. :pointlaff:

stealers president Art Rooney said the team was "encouraged by the early reports from the medical team" at the hospital. "I am sure Ben knows that we are praying for his complete recovery."

The NFL's standard player contract prohibits any activity involving "significant risk of personal injury" -- outside of playing football -- but Roethlisberger's contract doesn't include any provisions about riding a motorcycle. Roethlisberger has said he likes riding without a helmet, a habit that once prompted a lecture from pissburgh coach Bill Cowher.

Roethlisberger, 24, was on his black 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa -- the company calls it the world's fastest bike for legal street riding -- and heading toward an intersection on the edge of downtown when the crash occurred.

Witness Sandra Ford was waiting for a bus when she saw a rugged-looking white man with curly hair on his motorcycle driving along the avenue heading toward the bridge. In the opposite direction, a Chrysler was approaching and preparing to make the turn.

"I kept waiting for the motorcyclist to slow down," she told the pissburgh Post-Gazette. "He never stopped and just plowed into the car."

Ford, who didn't realize who the motorcyclist was, ran toward the crash scene.

"He wasn't moving and I was afraid that he had died. . . . He wasn't really speaking. He seemed dazed, but he was resisting the effort to make him stay down," she said.

The other car was driven by a 62-year-old woman, police said. They didn't immediately release her name and no charges were filed.

Police spokesman Lieut. Kevin Kraus said police and homicide units were leading the investigation, a standard practice when there is an accident with critical injuries.

Several teammates, including backup quarterback Charlie Batch, linebacker Joey Porter and safety Mike Logan, arrived at the emergency room. Some fans also gathered at the hospital, including Juanita Clark, who sells stealers paraphernalia.

"I just feel like he's a family member," said her daughter, Loretta Clark.

Retired halfback Jerome fat fuck fat fuck fat fuck fat fuck bettis, in California Monday, was keeping in touch with some people in the organization and told the Post-Gazette the reports he's received are that Roethlisberger will be fine.

"First, it's good to see he's not in bad shape, as a friend, and to make sure he's OK," said fat fuck fat fuck fat fuck fat fuck bettis. "Another good thing is it is minor enough that it shouldn't affect him on the field this fall."

In only his second year in the NFL, Roethlisberger helped guide the stealers to the Super Bowl title in February at age 23. Training camp for next season begins at the end of July.

Cowher warned Roethlisberger about safe riding in May 2005, after Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. was injured in a motorcycle accident. Winslow tore knee ligaments and was lost for the season.

"He talked about being a risk-taker and I'm not really a risk-taker. I'm pretty conservative and laid back, but the big thing is to just be careful," Roethlisberger said at the time. "I'll just continue to be careful. I told him we don't ever ride alone, we always ride in a group of people, and I think it makes it even more safe."

Other athletes injured on motorcycles during their careers include basketball's Jason Williams, skiing's Hermann Maier and auto racing's Dario Franchitti.

Roethlisberger and his mother were to begin shooting a commercial for Campbell's Chunky Soup this week, along with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck. Roethlisberger also has a campaign lined up with Nike.

Steinberg predicted that winning the Super Bowl could help put $20 million more in Roethlisberger's pocket through marketing over the next three years. :pointlaff:
I agree that Bengals fans shouldn't feel sorry for Roethlisberger or pissburgh fans...

After all, after a traffic collision at high speed, Roethlisberger is scheduled to be back in the bedroom with Hines doing his normal pregame cumslurping, probably before your guy who... nearly had his leg ripped off by an illegal cheap shot - but hey that's the only way pissburgh can win a superbowl. First Steroids, then cheapshots, then paying off the refs in the asterick Bowl.

I'd suggest that the whole city of pissburgh be nuked.

But that's BJ's plan isn't it?

Never, ever... NEVER.
After all, after a traffic collision at high speed, Roethlisberger is scheduled to be back on the field probably before your guy who... what tripped over a player.
Palmer is scheduled to be back around the same time.
He`s about 8 weeks ahead of schedule, not bad for being cheap shotted.

Good thing Ben had that BIG HEAD of his to break his fall.
It helped him avoid injury to his hand off hand.
I'd suggest you should feel sorry for yourselves.

But that's sort of what you're doing isn't it?
Why feel sorry for ourselves ?

We won the Divsion without cheating, have all 11 starters returning
on one of the top ranked Offenses, have 3 players that are going
to be upgrades on Defense, 2 stud LB`s that won`t be rookies,
and will be in the Playoffs in '06.

Palmer = working out with team.
Roethlisberger = using a feeding tube.

The only reason Roethlisberger didnt suffer brain damage is because he doesnt have one.
