Well, 666 posting his guitfiddles in that other thread brought this one to light. Post your guitars, basses, gear here. I'll go first.

L to R: Gibson Explorer, Peavey Wolfgang Special with b/w VH stripes, Kramer 5150, Peavey Wolfgang Special maple top, (front row) 1991 Fender Usa American Standard, Ibanez USA Custom. Amp: Peavey 5150II

2 guitars from the previous photo + 1989 Fender Strat Plus and Music Man Silhouette special.

Music Man Axis EX and Peavey Wolfgang Standard

Peavey Wolfgang Standard (from above photo) + Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Trem-o-verb head, Peavey 5150II head, Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier 50w combo, and a Mesa Boogie Road King 4x12 cabinet.

The first 2 photos above are guitars I had in the past. Little things here and there forced me to get rid of them. What I have now are in the last 2 photos. It took me a long time to end up with that Trem-o-verb head. I went through a Road King, a Triple Rectifier, and a Stiletto until I finally found the sound I was looking for in the Trem-o-verb. I will never sell it.

I have that same explorer except black, and a blue takamine and 3 trumpets. (well a trumpet, piciolo trumpet and a flugal horn)

I can play the trumpets. The explorer I bought from a friend who needed cash. I had the takamine to start to learn to play but quit (ill probabally pick it back up if i ever finish school)

Ill post them tommorow as Im being lazy and dont want to get the camera or guitars and trumpet out (i have already posted pics of the flugal and pic)

Woah, somebody likes er.. loves Eddie Van Halen!
Yeah, Ed is the one that got me playing way back when. In my defense though, so I don't come off as a complete weirdo, the maple topped Wolfgangs are guitars that I personally feel are really nice guitars. They fit my hands well and I love the oil finished necks. The striped guitars were for this little VH tribute solo thingy I used to do in our live shows as well as when we would do VH tunes. At first I actually tried not to look at the 5150II amp just because it was Eddie's model. I got to listen to one and was blown away by it. At the time I couldn't afford a Mesa and the 5150II had all the balls I was looking for. I don't want to sell the 5150II now because they don't make them anymore. The one in the photo with the Mesa is actually my second one, the first one being in the pic with all the guitars.

As for effects I don't have anything other than a wah. I went through a bunch of different pedals years back but just got fed up with them. Right now I don't have a band going but if I ever get one up and running again I'm going to keep it simple and get the multi effects unit from t.c. electronic (Attn: Grammar police. They spell their name in lower case) I've looked at the G-Major and G-Force. Either one of them will do really. I think my next sound is going to be heavy distortion from my Mesa with a little delay and a little chorus. I don't need much.
MULLY
By the way, I let this guy get a picture with me. I think it was the happiest day of his life.

LMFAO.
And you prefer the current mesa head you have now over the triple rectifier?
A buddy of mine that's in a band had one of those things...150W of head room! That amp was/is deadly!
Crank it up to eleven...no thanks, I need my eardrums for later....

Oh yeah, I prefer this one over the triple. In my honest opinion the sound of the Rectifier changed when Mesa turned them to 3 channels (Dual and Triple). I do a little side work for Mesa, translating when they come to Japan, and I've gone up one side and down the other with them over this and they swear the sound didn't change. Everyone I know, other than someone that works for Mesa, swears that it did. I know it did. Also, 100w-150w, not much difference when you have it cranked. To be honest, and I hate to admit it, this is too much amp for most live houses. Really think about it, someone like Edward Van Halen has like 3 or 4 heads to play someplace that seats 50,000 people. People like me are idiots for buying something with that much power. That little 50w combo in the photo is more than enough. 50w of tube power is pretty fucking loud. On a side note, I think the Triple Recti has a switch that you can go from 50w up to 150w. I had a Road King that did all kinds of stuff. Now that was too much amp. Wasn't reliable either.

Funny story, a guy from Mesa was telling me about one of these major bands that had a wall of Marshall's on stage, because the guitarist has an endorsement deal with them, but when you went backstage he had 1 Mesa Mark II running the whole show.

I used to have, like, six guitars... one for every mood I was in. Then one day I got sick of shlepping them around every time I moved, which, back then, was often. So I ditched most of them and got a Parker Nitefly. Between it and a decent effects processor, I can get it to sound like pretty much whatever I want.
The guitars it replaced:
1992 Fender Stratocaster
1990 Epiphone Les Paul (when Epi made stuff nearly on par with Gibson)
1971 Gibson SG (wish I had kept that one)
2001 Washburn Montgomery (fat hollowbody jazz box... fat sounds)

In addition to the Parker, I've also got an Epi strat copy (my first guitar, I will probably be buried with it), an Oscar Schmidt orange acoustic, and a cheap Samick bass to fuck around with.

All played through an old Digitech RP-6 and a Peavey Special 212. Sometimes I play them through my keyboard amp, a 1988 Peavey KB-100 (nicknamed "Peave" cuz the y broke off) when I'm in a weird mood. My keys are a classic Korg DW-8000, one of the first digital waveform synths, so I get all the great 80's new wave sounds.
I record through a Fostex VM08 digital mixer and use an Alesis drum machine. A pirated copy of Sonar rounds out the studio.
I've also got my grandfather trumpet, which I played in high school, two harmonicas and a kazoo somewhere.

Well, since you don't want it, I'd be happy to accept it, and will gladly pay all shipping.

I still dunno why my old man didn't keep it. I let him borrow it, and he swears it's the best guitar to play that he's every played. But he likes his cherry sunburst LesPaul. Go figure..

As for me parting with it, it's like my MG in storage back home. You'd sooner get a gun off of Charlton Heston. I only wish I could play it worth a damn.

Is the MG running, or is it a project that you swore you'd take up years ago and now it makes the weeds in your yard look sophisticated?
(Cause if it was up on blocks in my yard ((trailer)), my neighbors with similar trash in their yards would make fun of me for having a rusted hulk of a bitty English car rather than some random Camaro or Chevy Nova).

Running? No, it's an MG. :D

First stick shift car I ever drove. I threatened my folks with anything and everything if they ever sold it, and they passed it on to me (from that spot in the garage it occupied for about 10 years) when they left VA. I've had it running occasionally, and I've spent more money than it is worth by far, to keep it in storage while I'm overseas, but i will never part with that car. Even if my giant fat ass can barely get in and out of it anymore. Especially when the top is up :pointlaff:

Pack Rat.....and I understand. My only guitar (back to topic) is a white Peavy Focus that had it's original neck replaced with graphite.
It's a strange guitar....and my Gorilla Amp from 1984 (no shit, the original practice amp my Mom and Dad bought me for Christmas) is my only amplification.
Something is wrong with either the pickup wiring in the guitar or in the amp, and I have been either too preoccupied or lazy to figure out which.
I want to pick up playing again, though. It used to be my only release (I mean, in conjuction with drugs) that I had, and I actually was/am pretty good at it.
Damn I'm old with priorities I never thought I'd have....

50w is absolutely LOUD.. Most club soundmen will fight with you to roll back the volume even with a little combo amp..
So many of the big league rock bands of yor had the stage lined up with dummy cabs meanwhile ran a little one speaker combo mic'd up in the back and everything else was PA/monitor... And for recording - stacks are hardly ever used with a better result than a small rig (although I'm really digging on the Native Instruments Guitar Rig plug-in for my home studio)..
I have to admit though that I'm totally not a Mesa or modern amp guy.. I had a Triple Rec and could not get a sound.. I like the old Marshalls - Plexis, Majors etc.. and some of the old Fender Bassman and AC30 amps work for me as well - it's just personal preference..
I'm assuming you guys are in the Cincy area.. Is that live music laundramat place still open? How about Bogarts?
