Was listening to AM 850 in cleveland and they said Holly and Braylon Edwards collided tearing Holly's knee up ACL?MCL?PCL?{didn't specify} but said he was out for the year. Braylon also got a hip pointer. They are extremely thin at CB to begin with trading Bodden and now Holly out. Alot of callers want them to get Ty Law or Lito Shepard but the host said they talked to there GM and he said they were probably out of there price range. Last week there starting right guard Tucker broke his hip or something. I hope we don't go thru that shit.

The Browns cut him:
HOLLY CUT, WILL LAND ON INJURED RESERVE
Posted by Mike Florio on May 22, 2008, 4:59 p.m. EDT

A day after Browns cornerback Daven Holly suffered what was described as a “serious” knee injury, Holly has been waived, and eventually will be placed on injured reserve.

Before being waived, Holly signed his one-year restricted free agent tender. After he clears waivers, he’ll land on the team’s injured reserve list, which will entitle him to his full salary for the 2008 season.

Because he has been waived, he’ll likely be eligible to sign with any team after the 2008 season. But his 2009 market value disappeared along the ligament(s) in his knee.

How? He gets his full 2008 salary...
They cut him immediately after a serious injury. Instead of getting care and rehab from them, he has to do it all out of pocket. I guess they saved him from a staph infection, but it's still a fucked up thing to do.
