Bengals1181
fwiw, cheapskate Mike Brown is closer to the cap this year than Jerry, moneybags, Jones.
oldschooler
Isn't the cap $120 million with a $3 million overage allowance? That means the Bengals only have $9 million in space. Carson's salary is $11.5 million. That can't be right, can it?

They may be at 114 towards the cap, but may be less than that as far as cash. I dunno.

If $9 million is right, maybe they'd cut Grad for the extra $2.5?

turningpoint
Clayton is right he said spent, so it obvsiously counts the signing bonus' to this # to Cash Spent, either that or it includes Palmers $$

sparky151
it might be a cap vs actual cash thing. They may be at 114 towards the cap, but may be less than that as far as cash. I dunno.
The team is at 114 million scheduled to be spent this season. That's what would count toward the cash minimum if the floor were in effect for 2011. They are well below the cap ceiling and have room in case Carson does report. The minimum and maximum amounts are calculated differently so there's really no point in reporting actual cash outlays in years when the floor isn't in effect.
