Just like all the prisoners had the lie of being transferred elsewhere. Obviously they couldn't use that same lie for the guards, because the guards would just take their families with them to wherever they were transferred to. At least that's how I took it. Seems like a pretty funny show similar to one back in the day called "Sports Night." They have the same kind of high brow comedy about low brow issues.
