Guest BengalsOwn Posted June 23, 2005 Report Share Posted June 23, 2005 Since I work nights right now from 6:00 PM until 3:00 AM, you people are pretty much the only people I have to talk to, and I just had to share this. I've been at my current position for the last year and a half, and have spent the last year wondering when I would be laid off. Needless to say, it was the most miserable job I've ever had. I had an interview on Monday, which went very well. I got an email from the manager asking me to come visit with them Friday, to make sure I like the work they do. If I do (which anything is better than what I do now, so of course I will take it), it looks like I will be offered the job. $10,000 more per year, first shift, don't have to work holidays, etc. Couldn't come at a more perfect time either, we close on our new house in 2 weeks and I need all the money I can get. Working this shift just wears you out, and combining that with trying to finish some last minute work on my rental property, and moving all of our shit, it makes life miserable. Now, I'm leaving for vacation in Virginia Beach in 24 hours, and as soon as I get back it looks like I will be starting a nice job (probably start on July 5), working a regular shift (and getting to hang with the wife a ton more), and moving into a brand new house on July 6.
